Prince and come together

I like prince's version, but it is not very funky. For a song that has the potential to be very funky, prince's version isn't and he normally makes most things funky.

I haven't heard Prince's version of "Come 2gether," but I'd like 2....I trust that Prince can get the electromagnetic static cling going.

...That's just what the World Needs right now.

...All that 4 the Beatles...and Aerosmith... cool

It's a live version - he blends "7" into "Come Together".

He's not going for funky, he's going for grandiose, stadium-capturing rock. And he achieves that. Honestly, on the first night at the O2, we all agreed that it was the hightlight of the evening.

I think that was considered "funky" for that time.

Actually MJ covered the song in 1987, when BAD came out. He had a long form video called Moonwalker, and he performed "Come Together" on it. (It's the same video that the "Smooth Criminal" mini-movie came from, that starred Sean Lennon and Joe Pesci.) It's the exact same version that ended up on HIStory almost 10 years later.

If anything, it's an outtake by the time HIStory came out.

Come Together was released as a double A-side with Remember The Time in the UK in early 92 (well, it was listed on the chart as a doubleA on some weeks). It was a very strange decision for it to make a 3rd appearance on the HIStory album after Moonwalker and Remember The Time.
