Are the 3inch cd singles rare. I bought one that has Little Red Corvette (dance mix) and 1999 (full lenth version) on it. I got it for £3.

I don't think they're hugely rare, but the 3" ones are rarer than the 5" ones IIRC.

I'm only referring to that specific re-issue series (there's 5 I think), not the 'proper' 3" CD singles like I Wish U Heaven, Partyman etc.

I have "When Doves Cry"/"Purple Rain" on a 3". I think it's the only one I own.

The 3 inch was printed in less than half the volume as the 5 inch, but don't expect it to command a higher price. Both are fairly free on the open market.

Weren't they like the original CD singles of 1988, that were found to corrode after a few listens

88 and 89 were the years of dodgy "wearing out" CDs, but I think it was more down to the case than the CD. Cardboard sleeves comtained an enzyme that erroded the disc...and you could cross contaminate.

So, in theory, that will make a playing 3 inch disc harder to come by. I'll have to check if mine still play. I probably haven't played one in 15 years.

The 3" cds of singles from Lovesexy are extremely rare, at least the ones of Glam Slam and I Wish U Heaven. I have been looking for them for years. Anyone???

I have the Lovesexy 3" CD singles, all bought from record fairs in the early 90s, I do remember the I Wish U Heaven one was £20. *gasp* I would not pay that these days.
