"put some olive oil in my hair"

For those of u not familiar with Olive Oil products...this is what I think Prince was mentioning when he was talking about putting Olive Oil in his hair. There is a product line by Organic Root Stimulator that is made with Olive Oil.

Ahh, I've seen ads for those on the buses and subways. I wonder what it does for your hair?

Supposedly it helps your hair grow thicker and prevent thinning hair. It must be working for him, because his hair appeared to be thinning a few years ago, but it is much thicker now.

They have a website that explains how their products work.

Yes, I know. I know people that use regular olive oil on their hair, but it tends to weigh the hair down when you use is straight on the scalp.

I'm pretty sure it's mostly designed for ethnic hair. They do make other products like shampoo and conditioner that other types of hair could probably use, but if your hair is naturally kinky (that is the proper term and is not meant to be racist), then you could probably use the whole line.

Here is the company's description on their site of what they do/offer:
Organic Root Stimulator™ products were conceived, developed and marketed by Namasté Laboratories, LLC. Namasté is a Hindi term which means "to bow to the divinity within." At Namasté Labs we interpret that to mean "to serve the beauty within," which is accomplished through a new and exciting hair care system -- Organic Root Stimulator™ -- that gets to the root of healthy hair.

Namasté Labs was founded in 1996 to address the needs of the health-conscious, multi-cultural consumer market. Namasté is dedicated to identifying holistic, innovative remedies for the healing and renewal of hair, skin and body. This philosophy has made us a leader in natural, therapeutic health and beauty aids.

Organic Root Stimulator Product LineThe Organic Root Stimulator™ difference -- strengthening from the inside out

Utilizing a ground-breaking approach that successfully integrates scientific research and herbal remedies from nature's garden, Namasté has developed a unique product line that responds to consumer demand for natural products that really work. Unlike most products that are cosmetic in nature, Organic Root Stimulator™ actually delivers on its promise of natural healing hair care. It is a superior quality therapeutic hair care system that gets below the surface and naturally restores hair and scalp damaged by medication, hereditary conditions and health problems, as well as damage caused by perms, blow drying and braids. Hair and scalp are revitalized to a healthy, wholesome condition.

[b]Typing from PDA, so pardon me a moment or two...
Olive oil is from Kush to Egypt to Is real (israel)...it was and is the staple for hair, body and what was used with granite, nile river mud and papyrus to paint the walls, statues and temples...even mary used olive oil and spykenaard to wash the feet of Jesus and Mary's cousin, Elizabeth used the same for John the Baptist. Aaron used olive oil to polish his breastplate of 12 tribes of divine union. Olive oil is the branch of God and the blood of eternity through Jesus the christ.

Take carel...

The smell is pretty strong on Dr. Miracle, but his products really work and have the "feel it formula". My hair is so thick now. I don't do perms, but I do the "Hot Gro", dandruff shampoo/conditioner and the leave in conditioner. I can really tell the difference in my hair.

I highly doubt that. Prince perms his hair and uses these types of products. His hair looks too good to be using "old school" products.
