Deja Vu: 2004 all over again?

So far, everything he's done already this year reminds me of 2004 . . .

• New album, early in the year (actually, 2 new "Prince" albums this year)
• New website - completely new this year, but in 2004 we were given the brand-new Musicology Store
• Leno appearance: one appearance in 2004, 3 so far this year with 1 more planned next month
• Ellen appearance: one in 2004, one this year
• Tavis interview: one in 2004, two this year (Prince/Bria Valente)

Almost line-by-line it's the usual suspects from 2004, and all around the same time of year. Coincidence? If the trend holds, will this mean a new tour this summer?

By this time in 2004, I had already been to one concert, saw one simulcasted at a movie theatre, and had tickets for another one. I just can't imagine that he will do a summer tour if nothing has been discussed by now. Maybe he will do something like the One Night Alone, which was done in the colder months. I would be fine with that.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

From your mouth to Prince's ears... or should that be 'From your fingertips to Prince's eyes' hmmm ... whatever.. Fingers crossed for a World Tour (unlikely I know, but if I said 'UK tour' everyone from the US, Australia and Europe would jump down my throat!)

International fans: let's hope that the pattern doesn't repeat exactly - the Musicology tour was only in the U.S. and Canada.

And the way he's going at the moment, it could be the 2009 world tour of Los Angeles.
