Remember The One Night Alone Tour? It was a really smooth tour he played Avery Fischer Hall in NYC and did an aftershow at the WWF in Times Square. Where did he play in your town and your fondest memories.

Went to all the DC shows, NY shows and then drove from DC to Kansas City to see that show. The Kansas City one was cool because I got in line about 7a.m. and ended up getting front row center. I wore a MD Terrapins t-shirt and a few songs into the show, Prince said "looks like we got friends from MD in the house!"
Pretty cool. It would be great if he just did that tour all over again and called it "Another Night Alone" or something. The small theaters he picked were great. The soundchecks were priceless. I also ended up on the January page of the ONA Calendar he put out that year. You could say that tour made me a fan for life. Biggest regret was giving away my aftershow pass in NYC and then finding out he actually played, and recorded it for the ONA live box set. Oh well. [Edited 4/15/09 3:55am]

I agree that tour was so Great. I also went to New Orleans to see him I was walking around Bourbon Street and spotted the Painting which was to be the COVER of THE RAINBOW CHILDREN at a local store down some side street unbeknowest to myself and when I tried to find that store I couldn't. The show wasn't Thrilling to Prince cause the Crowd was Dead and stayed in their seats and he had to say Stand -Up. He didn't do an aftershow and I didn't go to The House Of Blues for some reason where he probably was hanging out. I'm so Shy around Wild Boy.

Ahhh.....fantastic tour. Such an awesome band too.
He played at the beautiful Kodak Theatre here in LA. As members of the NPGMC, we got to go in early, pic whatever seats we wanted, and watch sound check

Best Prince live show I've been to. He played at the Verizon Center here in Houston. Waited probably and hour outside in line to get in for the soundcheck, when we walked in Prince was seated about 15 rows back alone directing the band through a few numbers. He got up and walked to the stage with no security..bumbed into some chick as she was making her way into the theatre. He asked for someone to join him on stage to sing last December..I was the only one in the building brave or foolish enough to volunteer. We spoke briefly before I took the mike and he told me he wanted to give me something after the soundcheck. So there I was along with 2 brave volunteers I convinced to join me belting our hearts out in the ultimate karaoke with Prince and the band as back up. AMAZING! After the soundcheck he took questions and as he promised called me back to the stage and offered me a Jehovah Witness book on the prophecy's of the Old Testament.
The End. 1 over Jordan...the greatest since

29 April 2002 - The Paramount Theater, Seattle
My first concert EVER, by any artist. Met Candy and Maceo the next morning in the hotel lobby; they both signed my tourbook. Good times... https://www.youtube.com/@PurpleKnightsPodcast

Saw this tour when it came to Dublin Ireland
Wasn't a member of the NPGMC back then and so missed the sound check as well has having seats half way down the auditorium but next to an aisle. Then security walked up, and in amongst them was Maceo. I called his name, ala prince at the time. He seemed a little bit surprised, but quickly caught himself and shaked my hand.He then took a minute and the show began with his solo as he walked to the stage. A very cool night had just began. dayum that was such a special time. I live in Detroit and at the sound check Prince called Ricco up on stage to sing. If you dont know Ricco then you dont know just how special that was. While Prince calls Ricco on stage,Prince says to him sign Adore, I'll back U up. Also beind that He was up in da D, Ricco had too much of his art up in there, we all came up to the stage and showed Prince just how talented Ricco is. I was so happy for him.

I saw the concerts here in my hometown Ålborg and also Copenhagen, Denmark.
Not my fave Prince tour, actually I remember I was a little disappointed after the shows, too jazzy for my taste and far too overrated by fans in general imo., I will rank ONA 2002 as a "good but not great" tour, what I saw in London 2007 was very much better, but the ONA aftershow in 2002 at club Vega, Copenhagen was excellent. I'm really happy to have witnessed this show. Prince 4Ever.

I remember Chicago was the 2nd show of the tour and he was at the Chicago Theatre.
I still in High School and was scrambling like a mad man to get tickets to those shows. My mother said I couldn't go unless I had a date or someone to go with. I get home later that day and find out tickets had sold out. I went to the mall later to see if Ticketmaster had any tickets left, but the woman told me the 1st show sold out in 9 minutes, and the 2nd show sold out in 10 minutes. I was pissed and upset that I couldn't get tickets, but I was also amazed and happy that there was still such a demand to see Prince Live. I also tried winning tickets on the radio to no avail The Rainbow Children album didn't really sell that well, but the One Nite Alone tour was a huge success. That was the first tour that I started trying to find Bootlegs. The live stuff from that era was incredible!!! IMO, from listening to the Bootlegs. I'd say that was a top 5 tour. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

October 31st, 2002.
What an unforgettable date. Prince and The New Power Generation played live in Milan, for the first time after 12 years and also in my life. I remember him saying 'Ciao Milano!' when he appeared during the intro, and played both hits and new songs. I have a great memory of that night because he played one of my favorite songs, 'The ladder', he brought over Sheila E. with him and also played 'Sign O' the times' and 'Purple rain'. Along with another favorite of mine, which is 'Days of wild'. I long to see and hear him again.

Oberhausen and then Paris plus the Paris aftershow.
All so nicely documented... Also Hamburg and Berlin..... Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Went over to Paris to watch Le Zenith show, which was amazing, then ended up really gutted cos the security guards told us there was "absolutely no aftershow". Not knowing where the hell anything was in the middle of paris we gave up and went back to our hotel, only to find next day that he went on to play the the Bataclan later that night.

Tickets for the Bataclan were pre-sold!
So why didn't you prepare? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

april 9th 2002 will b a day/night that i WILL NEVER 4GET ..the soundcheck, the main show, the aftershow and how i lost my mind when he did the everlasting now. during the soundcheck when he announced the after show would b at the world, my cousin and i (both wrestling fans) looked at each other and said THANK U VINCE MCMAHON!!
the only disappointment of the night came when he said during the main show "if ur looking 2 get ur purple rain on, ur in the wrong house!!" then during the piano segment he did that damn song. i sat my ass down and so did half of avery fisher hall. then there was the xenophobia celebration oh lawd what a fucking week!!! this is the tour prince needs 2 do again, small, intimate, just 4 the hardcore so he doesn't have 2 feel regulated 2 do the hits anymore man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I remember my wife & I being the 4th & 5th people let in thanx to the NPGMC. We were able to get a seat at the bar area elevated above the floor. We got to order food & not have to scramble for position with a perfect vantage point of the entire show. Dude came on & did Beautiful Strange, a jaw dropping version of Calhoun Square, & BODP (as heard on the one nite alone aftershw disc.) In fact I remember him showing Renato what key it was in during the main show's sound check. I remember finding it odd that Renato hadn't already played that yet on tour & didn't know what key it was in. It was cool to see the man as "the teacher". Great show!

I saw it on March 12 in Cleveland. I loved it. After a Saturday night of insane drinking, my friend and I left Western NY at around noon on Sunday to make it to the sound check. We then hung around and waited for the show. The club owner from Purple Rain (Billy ???) checked my ticket at the door. It was a great show and what made it even better was that I was in the 3rd row. he played a bunch of stuff from Rainbow Children, and then he finished with some hits. He ended up playing a sick encore of about 7 or 8 songs. After the show, we drove back to W NY and got back around 4AM. By then, my hangover from Saturday night had just about worn off. I abdicated the throne in Ithaca, but now I am...
