I mean, give me a break:

This album is as superficial and plastic as can be: Prince is making a fool of himself, by trying to copying the likes of the Black Eyed Peas and the Neptunes, and failing immensely.
In terms of songwriting and compositions it is as worse as New Power Soul.

He uses the linn-drum, he uses those cheap sounding synths, but he simply doesnt use them in a brilliant way as he did in the eighties: big difference.

MPLSound is an annoying, opportunistic, cheap 'album'. Anyone with some selfrespect should avoid it.

2/3 out of 10. Nothing more.

this is a prince fan site. if a prince album is going to be overrated by a group of people, shouldn't it be here?

I am a fan of Princes music, and i see when he screws it up in a big way.. as with MPLsound.

In fact, my reaction to MPLS was very close to when I heard NPS the first time. I was considering just not listening to Prince for a while because of it At least I bounced back the next day (thanks to one of the 90's albums)

With "Here" and "Better With time" I don't think overrated at all.

It's nothing to brag about and nothing to hate. On a scale of 1 to 5 I give it 3. There are several good and average songs. The difference compared to other Prince albums is that nothing great ever happens on MPLSound. Not once.

I like it.
I don't feel its any better or any worse than
Planet Earth, 3121 or Musicology.

It is more 'fun' than his past few albums, but honestly, I'm already tired of it for the most part. I'm sure I'll put 'Dance 4 Me' and 'No More Candy 4 U' on future compilations, though.

I listen to 'Lotusflow3r' most out of the 3.
