No title tracks for LotusFlow3r/MPLSoUND

It seems a bit of a shame, as all of his albums (bar 1979's "Prince" and maybe one or two more) had brilliant title tracks. However there are no title tracks for LotusFlow3r or MPLSoUND...

It seems to me that prince maybe didnt work as hard as he used to on these albums...he used to have a new look, new sound, maybe even entirely new band members every album...but hearing that songs from LotusFlow3r are from 3121 sessions 3 or 4 years ago...and "Feel Better.." is from 1995. It just seems to me like Prince doesnt care about this new project as much as he used to care about his new albums/image. What do you all think?

"LOTUSFLOW3R and ...back 2 the Lotus," are a nice way to frame the material on that disc.

There are a lot of songs that are single material or could have been title tracks.

If I'd of changed the name of the cd...I guess, "Dreamer," would have been my choice. cool
"The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Yeah, Prince, you clearly should have shaved your head, recorded the tracks in a wind tunnel and sacked the last band ... that would have shown commitment.

i think the exact opposite. he probably spent more time on Lotus Flow3r than
any other album since The Rainbow Children.

he's said that the conception of the Lotus Flow3r album/idea came during the
3121 recording sessions and he's been working on it, putting tracks aside for
it ever since. the album sounds cohesive, driven, focussed and to the point.
what's more, it works so well that imo it's his best album since TRC and if u
would like to go back even further, his best since The Gold Experience.

not sure about MPLSOUND but the fact that he recorded it purposely at paisley
park last year and it too (much like lotusflower) has it's own vibe and it's
own point to prove suggest to me that enough effort went into it. eventhough
i don't like it as much as, say, 3121 (but more than musicology/planet earth),
it does feel like it was intended this way and no other way.

his last 3 albums sounded like mixtapes. good tracks, so-so tracks but not a
real overarching feel or message. these latest 2 albums do have that and it's
a healthy sign, at least to me, that he's back to crafting albums as such and
not writing a potential hitsingle ("guitar") and then just throwing whatever
songs he has at it to see what sticks to rush out an album ("planet earth").

No it isn't. You're thinking of "Feel Good", a completely different song.

why do people keep saying that though? if they know "feel good" (1995),
it's obvious that the songs are nothing alike.

do they base this "fact" on the titles alone, without having heard the
emancipation outtake?

Why on earth should an album necessarily have a title track?

it was prince's thing. see the origin of the song 'shockadelica.'

I think you think too much. If anything, he's being smarter by using tracks from all those years ago. He was reported to have a vault of 320 unreleased songs...in 1986 - and they still sound like they were meant to be released today, both albums.
