Dreamer (Leno) vs Fury (SNL) Which do you like better...Dreamer (Leno) or Fury (SNL)
This is a hard one for me because I really went nuts over Fury the first time I heard it. But I think Dreamer is a better song, is new and he killed it on Leno. Talk 2 Me people.... U might not like the taste, but I'm still going to stick your face in this Funk

Dreamer all the way
seriously, everything was perfect. The sound was incredible (nice guitar choice by the way ) good song awesome performance and the outfit & the way the band was set-up worked so well. Fury on the other... the quality of the song was good and such but everything else, I didnt dig the first time I saw it. Orange is not his color and I wasn't a fan of the headband thing I tend to go for visual first, sound second. That's my reasoning had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Dreamer was fantastic.
Fury was legendary for me. No contest. Every element of that performance was perfect and his lead-work was phenomenal. [Edited 4/21/09 20:07pm]

I like Dreamer
I loved when he did Fury on SNL. It was a disappointment that the album version was not as furious as the SNL verson Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

I like Fury on SNL better. Both are good but not great songs, but the reason I prefer Fury is that Dreamer starts out good and then loses pace in the second verse and forward.

I like 'Dreamer' better than 'Fury.'
The Leno performance, however, he seems to forget the lyrics toward the end, that bugs me a little, but I still prefer it to 'Fury.'

I'm voting for "Fury", purely because no one saw that sucker coming! At the time, all we'd heard from 3121 was "Te Amo" and I think "Black Sweat" had only just come out that week... so no one really knew what to expect from the SNL performance... at least no one saw a guitar-driven track coming. He totally smoked us with that!
The performance of "Dreamer" is probably equally as good, however it didn't have the same surprise factor as "Fury" IMO. Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

Fury was good, UNTIL he did Dreamer. I love Dreamer more because of Sonny, Michael and Morris all being there. Fury runs a very close 2nd though, and that SNL version trumps the album version big time.

Love Dreamer....but man this is easy....Fury wins hands down ...that's Prince our man, he killed it on SNL .....anyone who's not into Prince show them that clip and they will buy a 3121 Prince CD in the next week ....I've tested it out on a few non-prince fans .... Fury was awesome, played it over and over. I saw the Dreamer clip once and didn't watch it again until I saw this thread.

Dreamer didn't have the surprise factor.....Fury came out of nowhere and caught us all off guard. That's why it's kind of hard to compare. The sound and mix on Dreamer is better than the SNL performance and I think it's a better song. I'm going with Dreamer on this one...but it's close. U might not like the taste, but I'm still going to stick your face in this Funk

Fury on SNL by far. It was a completely electrifying performance. everything was perfect.
i find Dreamer (this performance and the album track) quite dull

Fury all all all ALL the way. That shit got metal heads flippin out on their web pages 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

And the vote has to go to Fury from the simple fact that nobody was comparing the guitar licks to any other legend and we weren't even comparing it to prince. It was just magical, heartfelt, organic guitar playing at its best. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I really like Dreamer, but I just went back and watched Fury...wow, I'd forgotten just how good a performance that was...

Well said and good point. I prefer Fury.

Fury was one of his best performances ever. Guitar was very forward versus a tad muted with Dreamer on Leno.
I also think visually, Prince just nailed it on SNL, he looked extremely cool (seemed pretty frail and small on Leno) and the ending was awesome. [Edited 4/22/09 11:35am]

Dreamer didn't have the surprise factor, huh?
I was mighty surprised because the performance came on a little after the Target commerical showed. I didn't expect him to perform the same song And it kicked major ass That's just me, though just in the same way that the whole package comes to mind with each performance. The visual and the overall sound At least with Prince, that's how I approach things had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I don't know...I really like them both...yet seeing Prince more recently is always a highlight...I thought "Dreamer," was great. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Both great performances. I'm gonna say Dreamer cause I like the part where he hands his guitar to the TMZ dude and he holds it up like the olynpic torch thinking Prince was gonna give him the guitar. nice guy.
