I jumped on Prince's bandwagon around August 1984 when I first heard Let's Go Crazy on radio. So it's been almost 25 years! BTW, I was only 13 back then.

Since 1989 - I was 16 and went on hols to France with new boyfriend + others { youthclub thing }, anyway, brought my walkman, boyfriend told me he'd bring the music - he only brought Prince! Well, I can't tell you how pissed off I was! couldn't believe it, after I calmed down I decided well best listen to this then, there's nothing else for it - to say the music blew me away is a total understatement, I couldn't stop listening to it! He bought the Batman soundtrack whilst over there as well!! I came home having split up with my boyfriend but having gained sooo much more - I went straight out and bought every Prince album I could find!! I've been a fan ever since, never looked back, only thing is, I don't know anyone else who's a fan, weird huh?

Since 'Controversy', 1981 - 28 years, havent missed a concert in or around Chicago-Indy since that time either. Been to 'Paisley' 4 times for 'jam sessions-celebrations'. Vegas 3121 club twice,.....was considering 21 nights gigs but decided not to go.... : (

I started to really get in to him with Emancipation in late 96.

But I was aware of him from the Batman album in 89, and also had picked up Diamonds&Pearls, Symbol (permanently borrowed from my step mum), The Hits 1, The Black Album and a couple of singles over the years. So it took me a long while to wake up to the genius.

Since a night/ early morning in march 1985, when I saw the Purple Rain concert on the telly, just before I had to do my round of morning papers so 25 years now.

29 years..but really more like 10-15 if you delete all the crap years/albums/ect..

Heard Controversy in 82 I was 10 and loved it then heard Lets pretend were married when I was 11 and had to find out who he was and been a fan ever since. I had to sneak to listen to him though till Purple Rain came out.
