Yes and No. Yes because it was great Prince rock...no because it came to late and his sound, style and lyrics are totally different. Nevertheless, it is Prince and I accept what music he gives. If I dont like a song (which is rare), I skip it and permanently memorize and defend the songs I love, cherish and adore. [Edited 4/11/09 21:12pm] &

i love the "quirky/weird" songs. they are what makes an album
have a unique feel and persona. if you'd put 12 tracks like "dreamer" on an album it would be filled with amazing rock tracks but it would be a boring album. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I like LF but overall its not a 'rock' album. Chaos and Disorder, the Undertaker are more rock.

But then I've loved the song for 30 years or so . . . Crimson & Clover is new to me, I did not knew it before, I love it - I believe it's one of the greatest songs on the LF cd, the guitar solo is sooo great, tastes can be different, right? Prince 4Ever.

It has a couple of very good rock tracks in Dreamer and colonized mind, but I dont feel its a proper rock album, its a good album none the less. I have to say that I feel Crimson and Clover is, dare I say it,...a little boring

It wet my whistle for a Prince rock album, but also felt let down at the thought of almost anything he does now looking ridiculous for his age, music festooned with religious dogma, continued record deal drama and his lingering creative dry spell.
I will take Purple Rain as the Prince "rock album" and be comforted that it is one of the best rock records ever made period. Whatever he does now is just topping and will not expect anything groundbreaking out of him ever again. Just the same, I enjoyed lotusflow3r and think its his best in at least 15 years whatever the genre stuck on it.

I'm really, how much more ground is there to break? Are there new things to tried and done in music? Who's really ground-breakingout there anyway. You know, U-sumthin, maybe we all should take a step back, forget about breaking new ground musically and such enjoy the piss out of this 30+ year ride P has given us and where it's going? I got bacon skin, bacon skin on my plate
