Remind me, what has P got against putting his music on ITunes?..

Aside from the obvious commercial suicide every time he appears on US TV [people log on and buy the Warners stuff and not the new!] what has P got against them? Has he actually come out and said anything in interviews etc. Surley it would have been good to do a hard copy only deal with Target and a download exclusive with Itunes no?.
Enlighten me please!.

In a recent interview with USA Today in an article titled "Prince shows off a different side for '21 nights',he was quoted as saying about I-Tunes "they offer U a figure that's embarrasing "

Because I tunes doesn't give artists jack shit. I believe if you don't preview a song on i tunes (ie: the 30 second clip) then the artist doesn't make any money from the purchase of the song. I tunes has got the thing down lock and key. In a un-related note they're changing pricing to $1.29 for popular songs. and $0.69 for no popular songs.

one it was a contractual agreement that for a period of time his new albums couldn't be available on download sites such as itunes, rhasphody etc.. in due time it will be available, a couple years or so,

No, I don't think so...

The LABELS continually asked for the ability to have price variations. This is not something Apple/iTunes wanted.

Publishers get 9 cents on 99 cent purchases and Itunes had been fighting to push that 9 cents even further down late last year. Im not sure what happened with that, if they succeeded or not. Their argument (that piracy was threatening the viability of the traditional music business model) I truly believe is legitimate, but further squeezing the life out of artists royalties is obviously meaning that artists are pocketing less and less.

Its not about the amount per song that Prince would get. His concern is and always will be about the Advance. He wants Itunes to pony up lots of cash upfront.

prince said in a interview that the projected profit forcast that itunes gave him was not worth even considering. i can't remember if that was from the recent interviews he did or from the doves interview dvd (which i watched recently)
