Most Embarrasing Prince songs? I cringe at Theres never been another like me, especially the WHOOOO! part.
When I went to the wrecka stow to purchase 3121 Love was playing, I found that somewhat cringeworthy too. I remember grimacing at Live 4 Love when I first played Diamonds and Pearls, (worse than Daddy Pop) and We March from The Gold Experience. Oh and 200 Baloons is about my least favourite Prince song of all. What are your picks?

Walk don't walk
I mean.... what was he thinking with the car-horns and everything How beautiful do the words have to B, before they conquer every heart

Good question!
Discounting the some quarter-decent shit every now and then, I firmly believe Prince's music gets worse and worse. You can trace his most embarrassing songs lineally. Hence, I think the topper at the moment is "crimson and clover." Its just so bad, soo soo bad on every level. Trying to do Jimi? HAHA. Prince is okay doing Prince when he was doing Prince (so long ago can anyone remember? thank god for eight-track tapes eh?).

I loved Walk Don't Walk when I heard it first. That and Willing and Able are two of my favourite Diamonds tracks.
Oh and Jughead didn't really annoy me that much either.

depends... there are ones that make me cringe when i'm listening to them on my own just because I think they're terrible ("Freaks On This Side," "Undisputed," etc.)
and then there the ones that i actually like a lot, but will cringe if i'm playing them around someone who isn't a fan or intimately familiar with them. (the screeching in "God," the end of "Temptation," "Good Love," etc.)

My wife has turned off The Beautiful Ones on a couple of occasions due to the excessive screaming at the end. Some people eh?

Honestly, I don't get why all the people bitch about "Jughead", but this Tony-M-plus-some-lame scratching-mixed-with-some-Claire-Fischer-orchestration (aka: mustard on sushi) opus magnum gets a pass. "Tony, get on the mike! Get on the mike!"

"Tony, get on the mike! Get on the mike!" I think for a long time it got a pass just because of the existence of the Tony-centric "Jughead" but people are finally realizing that "Push" is just as worthy of dirision. The only thing it has on "Jughead" is featuring more Prince vocals and a little bit of Rosie, but it's not enough to save it. The early 90's requirement to try to fill up a CD just because it could be done killed what could have been a really great standard LP-length album, as it did so many others at the time (including the one that followed it, though to a lesser extent).

The end of The Beautiful Ones imo, is a passionate crescendo and completes the song perfectly - one of my all-time faves! http://prince.org/msg/105/307615

"Right the Wrong" is, to me, the most embarassing Prince song. I said it on other threads, but I will say it again, I hate that song with a passion. It is one that I skip over every time it comes on. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

the "whoo" part is SO contrived. It's like a stock sample that goes nowhere (and has the nerve to repeat elsewhere!!!). No effort on that whatsoever and very embarrassed to hear it. This is how lazy he's become as a producer. The end of Discojelly is embarrassing. It sounds like a kid who just discovered ProTools and is experimenting with different scratches, cowbells. awful. Others recently: Wedding Feast Lolita
