just listened to the original version of old friends 4 sale and it still sends shivers up my spine...wonderful stuff.....which got me thinking....i hated the version on the vault album...none of prince's re recordings have worked , have they?....maybe argue about 'the dance' but i dont really like it and i dont understand why someone so prolific as prince has to go back to old songs and mess about with them...please ...no more prince...leave them alone

There's already enough demo versions for one thing. Which version is your favourite? #1, #2, #3 etc?

I agree, I like to hear new songs, not rehashed recordings.

fifth. I like both versions of the song. I like what u say is the "original" version the best but come on the difference between them is not so great that one is a masterpiece and the other shit.

RE: Re-recorded tracks. I can't say I listened to 'Ur Gonna C Me' that much on ONA, but I like the MPLSound version, and then there's The Dance, same for that.

To me after hearing the 85 version .. the vault seems very watered down .. he wanted to remove all of the personal stuff out of it Steve .. Jimmy Jam Terry..Chick .. Wendy ..

I don't know, I think that song was released by Prince as a promo only for the Under the Cherry Moon movie. 104 WDKX mainstream radio station played it all the time. I had it on tape by the 2nd time I heard it.
