I'd have to agree with many others...

IMO, The Gold Experience was Prince's last truly great album.

After that, there seemed to be something missing from from his albums
which he's never quite managed to fully recover.

The Gold Experience.

I think lotusflow3r might get somewhere up there. It gets more enjoyable with every listen, which hasn't happened in a long long time. lol

Prior to 3121, The gold experience.

Yeah, I remember we all went bananas when it came out here, we waxed lyrical over it for months. Within 24 hours there was a rate tracks of 3121 to SOTT tracks on already, and comparing songs to equivalent tracks off purple rain.

3121 is definitely his best album of this decade, in my opinion!

They're in reverse chronological order, which makes sense for this thread. wink

That makes sense if soulstar77 (born in 1977?) is young too because I was 17 when that album came out and those of us who were on this ride from the beginning who were closer in age to Prince himself totally dug the hell out of that ablum on first listen. We were ready lol

Pfff... Born in 77? Are you kidding?? You probably also think "3121" is Ps adress, right? wink

And absolutely no comment on the "we were so sophisticated and ready 4 SOTT" part of your post from my side 4 sure... razz

The last great Prince album was prince

The last great prince album was The Gold Experience.

Anything else after under either name was a cheap copy in comparison to the material to that point.

I am still digesting the Lotusflow3r project but I was very happy with 3121. I think Prince is in great form on it. 3121 is a great ,,parade" area song. Lolita is a classic cheesy pop with crazy hook (all people I play it for dance like crazy and dig it!), Black Sweat is Kiss's twin and Fury is a classic powerhouse. The Word is a delicious tune smile. I liked Planet Earth for most parts but it is not as good as 3121. Still, Planet Earth, Chelsea Rodgers,Somewhere here on Earth and One U wanna C are excellent. For me if those songs had been on 3121 the project would have been his best since Sign 'O' the Times!
