Nope next weeks chart and it should make it to number 1 easy ....look at this

MARKET WATCH

• Album units, current chart week: 6.7 million units
• UP 10% from last week's charts: 6.1 million units
• DOWN 12% from same week, 2008: 7.7 million units
• This week: The top three albums each sell more than 100,000 copies.
• This week last year on the Billboard 200: Day26's self-titled album entered atop the list with 190,000, and Panic at the Disco's "Pretty, Odd" started at No. 2 with 139,000. Counting Crows' "Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings" debuted at No. 3 with 106,000. The previous week's No. 1, Danity Kane's "Welcome to the Dollhouse," slipped to No. 4 with 89,000 (down 62%).

BORDERLINES

• The No. 10 album this week, Martina McBride's "Shine" (RCA), sold 41,000.
• The No. 10 album for the same week of 2008, Sara Bareilles' "Little Voice" (Epic/Sony Music), sold 31,000.
• Average total of the No. 10 album for the same week of the year during the past 10 years (2000-2009): 63,150.

biggrin

Why the fuck do Counting Crows sell albums?

True....100,000 is nothing really for Prince the downturn is good for him 3 Cd's at 11.98 is vaule for money and his fan base must be at least 500,000 in the US alone so it should stay in the top 3 for 2 weeks at least... biggrin

also , keith Urban has wide destribution and a major label, Prince doesnt ...and yet did such great sales...

On the flip side, Prince had had commercials airing during TV shows that pull 15-25 million viewers.

Yet on another flip side, KU has CMT, a very powerful vehicle for county music videos. He's already had a no. 1 country single from the CD. Plus he's up for awards this weekend. Not to mention the fact that country music fans tend to b more dedicated 2 their artists than that of rock, pop, r&b, and hip-hop.

I don't think Planet Earth has sold 500k, has it? Prince is capable of selling that many but he's not guaranteed to do so and needs to reach beyond his loyal fan base to accomplish it.

Nope it sold ref: Billboard ....97,000 in it's first week...so yes 100,000 is easy for Prince in the US....Plus the PE CD was given away free and lots of Orgers got it off the internet and via ebay which don't count on sales charts in the US.....

So Prince should do easy on his Fan base alone in the US .... biggrin
