Opening Scream of Gett Off - Prince or Rosie??? I have posted on HQ before long time back but didnt get a real answer
Is it Prince, Rosie or Tony M?!! Even though its only 2 seconds,I felt that it sounds like Rosie first and ends with Prince. Of course I may be wrong cause logically, there should be only 1 person doing that short intro. If u watch the MTV Gett Off Remix, Rosie is screaming it while sitting on the piano.That maybe MTV only but it sure looks like she could reach those 2 notes. While the original Gett Off video, we have Prince screaming on the intro on the floor. Any insights? Btw, Dreamer steals from Voodoo Child [Edited 3/31/09 20:11pm] if u cant tell me if Prince or Rosie did the opening scream for Gett Off, then u are not purple !!! | |

I'm not sure where you can find that info online.
But this came up before, and I was convinced it was Prince. (In fact, I still think his voice is mixed in on the "no" part of the "aaaaah-no" scream, as that part really does sound more like Prince than Rosie IMO). However, Rosie herself confirmed it was her scream, and at least 2 other members of the NPG confirmed it too. | |

Candy Dulfer uses a sample of the infamous scream during her rendition of "Pick Up The Pieces" strange enough it fits well..you can probably youtube it | |

Just listened to it a few times. Sounds like Rosie to me. There appears to be no double-tracking where Prince's voice and Rosie's were combined. Straight-up Rosie. Whole lotta Rosie.
Plus... ya gotta trust Boris. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

Sounds like Prince's voice sampled and played back in a little bit higher register. Definitely sounds electronic to me. Check out my tribute to Prince
