Yes, i fully agree on that. And this is what makes it so exciting.

Ok, now do me a favour and explain why you gave MPLSound 10/10, I would give it subjectively 6/10, but i know, its different tastes for different folks, but I am very curious why this album appears to be more popular than Lotusflow3r.

10/10, that´s what i would give it currently, but i have to wait and see how i would rate it in one year.

Generally, i like the linn-drum music from Prince very much and i don´t agree with some ppl
in here that say that MPLSound is a weak try to remake the Conroversy and 1999 period.

After listening to MPLSound for the very first time i was like WOW and it blew me away.
Songs like Dance 4 Me, Chocolate Box and Ol´Skool Company made it to my fav´s after the first listen.
In the meantime, Valentina, There´ll Never B and U´re Gonna C Me (although it´s re-recorded
from the 2002 piano CD) also have grown on me and i like those as well.
There isn´t one song on this album that i would skip away because it´s bad.
No More Candy 4 U isn´t a song that i would call one of my fav´s, but it´s
musicially very interesting and it made me laugh. It´s a very funny track
and it rounds up this album although it´s a bid goofy.

All in all this is an excellent album which i like to have in my CD player all the time, at least for now.
This record makes me happy, it´s very organic, funky, fresh and sexy, u can even hear the fun Prince had while recording this tracks.

TRC for example i totally disliked after the first listen but it grew so much that it´s also a 10/10 for me now.
MPLSound is not a musical masterpiece like TRC is for me, but it has it´s charm in a different way.
I was rarely so much in love with a new Prince album after the first listen like with MPLSound for a very long time.

Thanx for replying, makes interesting reading and i totally agree with the above statement, sometimes this album reminds me of the Black album/Lovesexy thing, this whole idea of being 2 seperate identities. TRC is an album i rarely listen to, it is a complicated album, it is layered like no other prince album, not even 1999, which is saying something. however when i do listen to it, i vanish in the puzzle

In the end, the main thing is, Prince is kicking ass again and i Love it lol

NB I think there will come a time when TRC will be regarded Princes best album alongside 1999, but that might take 20 yrs or more
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.
