Nope, its too polished and calculated.

Chaos and Disorder (minus the last two songs) is a far better 'guitar record'.

I am trying to remember if I have Undertaker or The Victor one at home in Ireland on vhs, anyway, my question is, did the music from Undertaker end up on a bootleg called Pseudo Gold?

eek, that title sounds familiar but i don't recall. there was a cd that just hda the audio from the laserdisc. and then the cassette dub i used to have had the audio from the laserdisc on one side and the audio from one of the paisley park shows on the other side.

Just looked up Undertaker on google and it is the same one, remember listening alot to that during the O2 concert stint

Undertaker was a far better guitar record as a whole. This has good guitar on it. But the production weighs even that down on several tracks. Still like Dreamer even if a Hendrix swipe. Hendrix swiped too- we just don't have those old blues dudes on cd wink

It's definately the guitar record I've been waiting for

This album actually brought a 50 yr old(grandfather) out in the open again, he now also has Lotus Flow3r. He's heavily into guitar work and was a big fan of Prince's For U - Lovesexy music

I love this album more than Minneapolis Sound now

From the Lotus
Boom
Crimson & Clover
Love Like Jazz
77 Beverly Pk.
Wall of Berlin
$
Dreamer

are my favorites

OK, i had to be careful about this one, but for those of you that think undertaker is crap, here is something else

http://www.youtube.com/wa...re=related

Now dont tell me Maceo aint good on the sax wink

BTW is that Larry Graham giving Maceo grief lol

PS the sax solo reminds me alot of that in King Curtis´s last performance "A whiter shade of pale"

For me, Lotusflow3r is TRC pt.II with a bid of SOTT.
There are many songs on Lotusflow3r that would also fit on TRC.
If there just would have been The work part2 on Lotusflow3r lol

So to say, i really like Lotusflow3r, but it isn´t the "guitar record"
i have waited for so long...

Get the 28th august 2007 aftershow bootleg, that should satisfy the wait, although a few of the songs come from chaos N disorder, which alot of old skool-hardcore Prince fans dont rate as a guiter album.

Yeah i have that and it´s good, although i would rather like to see this as an official release.
Honestly, i am not that much into the "I want a pure guitar record" like others.
"Dreamer" from Loutusflow3r is what i call a very good "rock" guitar song as well as "Fury", although the studio version sounds a bid sterile.

funny thing about the ones that want that is, they got it in "the truth" from the crystal ball album.

Dreamer is an ode to Hendrix, no matter what way one looks at, and would have fitted perfectly on Chaos N Disorder, very similiar to Zannalee.

Lotusflow3r is a very curious prince album, as you say, it has its taints of TRC running thru it, but I think it also confirms, there will never be a Purple Rain 2, Prince learned a valuable lesson with that, never give the record companies what they want at your own expense, and in his case this was artistic freedom.

It has taken me yrs to figure that out properly, but he has been very successful doing it.
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Ok, now do me a favour and explain why you gave MPLSound 10/10, I would give it subjectively 6/10, but i know, its different tastes for different folks, but I am very curious why this album appears to be more popular than Lotusflow3r.
