Your sig speaks the truth, then. No matter who does a cover IMO you should always make an effort to become familiar with the original. I only listened 2 the original because of all the attention that came with Prince singing it and how he messed it up. Well let me give u my take on this. After going 2 YouTube and and listening 2 Radiohead’s versions, I must say Prince gave it justice. Not because I love Prince so much, I know nothing about Radiohead, don't care 2 know anything about Radiohead but I do know IMHO Prince took this song and made it his. I do like Radiohead’s version, again Prince does it justice.... Radiohead should be glad that Prince took their song and gave it fresh update kick-n-the ass. Kickass guitar playing by Prince

It showed a complete lack of respect for the source material. FAIL. Oh, the haters are in the house... LOL.. u know it

im sure someone has stated all of these things but i'm putting them out there anyway...
straight up? P's decision to change the lyrics completely distorted the original beauty and intention of that VERY powerful song. plus, it's kinda odd he didnt just let the lyrics be, because "Creep" damn near sums up how prince as a young artist apparently felt. it's just sad to imagine prince seeing that song as nothing more than melody for him to guitar fuck. that song is more than that. to MANY people, im sure.

The diehard radiohead fans around here are also diehard Prince fans. It's possible to respect the art of both and be critical of ridiculousness. Pablo Honey is a mess and I can't stand that album, except for creep. Creep is the only reason I ever bought the Bends and then was shocked to hell at how the band grew. Prince could never do a KidA like Radiohead could never pull a Sign O the Times. They both have genius written all over them and if Radiohead did something stupid I'd criticize them to. Just like Hail to the thief, sonically it sounds great in most places but it's a radiohead "color by numbers" if you will. That's exactly what Lotus is. . I really didn't like Prince doing this cover... Im a HUGE Prince fan and I will say I follow everything Radiohead has done and am a big fan of theirs as well, there is massive differences in Prince and Radiohead and found it strange that Prince would have even liked the song enough to attempt to cover it. They run in complete different music circles and I just don't see why he would have done it or think that they would have not found it amusing.

SirPsycho said: SupaFunkyOrgangrinderSexy said: are you serious???!!!! i only ask that, cuz i know they had to have been asked several times Well I don't know if they commented on the actual music but they sure as hell were extremely critical and challenging when Prince went on his rant against youtube trying to pull the coachella performance. Radiohead is doing technology right, Prince is still sucking ass. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I actually think it's an 'hilarious' verision of Creep.
Espcecially as he gets the audience to clap along... Oooh and the sho-dobby-dos at the end... Only Prince has the gall to pull this off!!! [Edited 4/2/09 2:24am] Shut up already, damn.
