I have those 2 given to me by a secret santa friend a couple of years ago.

Pretty neat and I haven't seen any others since.

DigMeNow

There was originally a "Prince" album promotional card. From what I can remember it has a red border with the photo of the Prince album in the center. The back had some info on him.

Dang, I didn't know Prince even played baseball. This will have to be added to the Purple Fact database.

The Pro Set Super Stars Music cards were different artists, not just Prince. These may have been the only Prince ones in the whole set (I don't know, I have a bunch of the cards but not the whole set).

"For you" wasn't a single either, "Soft and wet" and "Just as long as we're together" were. Pretty funny facts there lol

MMSPORTS

I have the information you guys want on the Prince Trading Cards. The Prince cards are rare!

Pro Set was a football card manufacturer 1989-1993. They also did a bunch of non-sports stuff including the Pro Set Super Stars Music Cards. They included a bunch of different artists of the day (around 1990) and legends in most genres of pop music (hammer, madonna, led zeppelin), and this series was released in the United States. BUT, PRINCE was NOT in this set.

Pro Set also issued a small amount of this Music Card series in the UK-England, but the series was a little DIFFERENT. Yes, it had a lot of the same music stars in the US series, but it also had many MAJOR superstars who were NOT in the US version. Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and yes, Prince were ONLY in the UK issued set, and NOT in the US version. Pro Set could not get a license to issue many of the major stars in the US set, but they were in the UK set.

Both Prince cards pictured in this forum are from the UK set, cards #107 and 108. They were sold only in packs like baseball cards. There were 36 packs in a box. I know about these cards because I was a baseball card dealer and I traded a guy in England for a case of these cards 17 years ago. There are 20 boxes in a case and I still have 18 boxes and honestly, they were rare when I got it and now, they seem to be almost non-existent.

I've made some blunder purchases in the baseball card market but, I have to say, this is one I'm proud of biggrin
