Isn't Prince too old to be wasting his time on talentless hacks? Seriously. What I've heard of this Bria brood, not impressed. I'm more entertained by Britney Spears at this point. Does Prince not think that we notice that the only reason some of his proteges got a gig is because his dick said so?
It's always been amazing to me that such a musical genius could occupy and fill is time and energy into these damn bimbos who have nothing to offer. At least Vanity sang about her twat but really, the talentless lineup should have ended there. Are people satisfied that Prince's first opus since Emancipation contains an album of someone else's filler? Is Prince really that out of ideas and emotional commitment that he couldn't fill a third disc with more music? Wendy and Lisa couldn't sing for shit, but at least they were talented musicians. Perhaps the straight men around here are satisfied to look at some hot broads face but is that why you're a Prince fan, to live vicariously through his bedroom? Ladies, how can you stomach it? . here's how i look at it:
i think prince always needs to have a female "version" of himself to interpret the considerable amount of his songwriting that he wants to record, but doesn't feel should be coming out of the mouth of a man. we all know about his gemini spirit, his man+woman persona, his androgenous streak...i think bria is, if nothing else, the latest mouthpiece for this aspect of prince's songwriting. let's face it, we know it's not going to be an album showcasing a great set of pipes (like tamar) or great musicianship (like sheila e.), so what we're left with is a producer-driven album (in other words, a prince album) with a woman interpreting the lyrics instead of prince. it's no different than a britney album - those are basically showcases for the producers, with britney's technologically uber-altered voice crammed in the mix. at least with bria, i imagine what we'll hear is closer to what the singer really sounds like that on most of those pop tart albums.

Well you seem to be mad at him for not continuing to be dirty and do what he will with his past music for like 10 years now. Thats seems like youre tooo old to be wasting your time complaining about him not continuing to live out his life as he did to connect to your lascivious youth capades
Whats worse...continuing to create art using protegees, touring, being the musician that he is or doing what you do?

I agree with this, however, get a Gemini personality that got presence vocally as well as physically. Vocally the girl is tissue paper. Physically, we'll see. Shes pretty but doesnt mean she can fill the room. I never liked Tamar but she could fill the room with both. And history says that she is not interpreting the lyrics but rather is told how to sing them. It sounds like him and not whatever "voice/acutal styling" she may have. Her two songs on her own say enough about that.

I was referring to the songs she did before Prince. But lets take that non dyanamic vibe. Her voice isnt bad, but it isnt good. Its mediocre. Britney spears is mediocre and her shit sells and is good cus shes a nutcase and has really poppy tunes. That is not Prince and will never be Prince so if your gonna sell beautiful ballads or sexy slow tempo jams (elevator music as put by one Dickey lol) then it should have a distinctive voice. For example imagine Jazmine Sullivan singing the few songs by Bria we've hears so far? Would take that shit to anuther level. I think Prince continually pairing himself with medicre talent (except for Sheila and a few others) really does a disservice to his own music. I think anyway.

If I want Britney Spears I'll buy Britney. if I want Chante Moore, I'll buy Chante Moore not the knock off version. But when I want Prince, I want Prince and if he's going to do a protege album, give us at least another Tamar like talent version. And this is coming from someone who saw 3 of the Tamar shows and was not that impressed with her, but but couldnt deny she was good. She could hold her own with Prince and I cant take that away from her. Like I said. Imagine Prince with Adele singing his songs, Jazmine Sullivan. Remember when Me'shell Ndgeochello (sp) did that song with him? I forget. The Shit Was On Fire! Those are pairings worth listening to but you know, its only an opinion. Cant make the fucker do anything all we can do is vent!
