Musicology and Gangster Glam

The beat that starts at 4:45 in Gangster Glam is like the one in Musicology. For a drummer it is a standart beat, but still they do sound very similar.

Do you think he knew he hinted at Gangster Glam in 2004 or is this just a coincidence?

(I know, I've got too much time on my hands.. lol)

I think both Musicology and 3121 have some allusions to his past work, or at least some references. The intro to Te Amo Corazon reminds me of the Lovesexy concert flourish played before Eye No. And the way the live version of Black Sweat starts out reminds me of a variation on the beginning of the live version of Bob George. Maybe he was going back through some things he liked in his previous work and trying to give them a second airing.
