There weren't any shows from this tour recorded for broadcast on TV or release on home video that I can recall.

Great tour though cool

I went to this show in Manchester (UK)-where I live. I loved it but it was a technical disaster-Princed kept on disappearing to sort out the sound system. he also refused to play any major hits. People wer walking out. However for me it was great as I was in an enclosed area at the front and was screaming at Prince and Mayte

I went to that concert - March 11th. I was 16 and my mother let me have the day off school. That was the 1st time i ever saw him live. My jaw nearly hit the floor when he came out the travelator with a big beaming smile. I knew most of the tracks he played because i had the beautiful experience boot.

I can barely remember anything that happened as i was just in too much shock and awe. One incident does stick in my mind though. He unzipped his high waisted trousers right open, reached in and grabbed his twig and berries and gave them a good ol' shake.

I have never ever seen a bootleg recording of any manchester show. Does anybody know if they were ever any released?

Probably no tv channel/video label bothered with it since there was nothing for the general public on this show. razz

I felt the same, I loved hearing the Gold Experience material live, and stuff like 7, Pink Cashmere, I Love U In Me, but I could see all around people moaning because they weren't getting the hits. That's why the O2 shows were a big success, casual listeners just want the stuff they know.

I forgot i heard Pink Cashmere-I love that song. Thanks for reminding me. You are right about the O2 tour. Prince has learned to strip the approach in two.Mainstream nostalgia and then hard core Prince. The Indigo Night concerts were a perfect example of this

I came up to Manchester after seeing all the Wembley shows only to find that half the stage set had been left back in London cos it cost too much to have it moved!! lol

The Wembley gigs had sound problems too, I remember one night Eric Leeds made a guest appearance and performed a solo without his mike switched on, we just sat through 3 or 4 minutes of total silence!!

I think the magic is on the music from 1978-1989 personally

What I love is to hear his post 1989 music mixed in with the magic music

I do that alot when I'm trying to get into his new(er) music

which made it the best tour he's ever done!! woot! plus if people were walking out, then it proves how some don't follow his career closely cause that whole era was about putting prince 2 bed and allowing prince 2 reach new levels.
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

This is the tour i have least memory of, i seem to recall being sat at the back of Sheffield Arena in the UK and he did 'America' at some point, i confuse this with ActII though cause it was at the same venue (Which i hate).

Some tours stick in the memory over others.

Saw this show both nights in Dublin and Oh My G God
He detoured Dublin for the big tours ie. Parade, SOTT and Lovesexy which I would loved to have seen live.
Then he brought Nude(Cork), and Diamonds and Pearl and I was in awe.We missed Act II as well and then came Gold.
This was/is the show for the fanatic.
If you ain't seen it,find it.
This was the show where the NPG were there tightest.
The track list, were of dreams to come.
And do we have to mention Mayte's Ass OH MAN!
The shows since have technacly have been fine, technacly.
But this tour was raw and I loved it.
The tour was better then the albums it was promoting
To me Prince is all about that rawness in his music.
biggrin

Nah that was Diamonds and Pearls in 92.. I just remembered I went to one of the Birmingham shows later on in the tour too, all the sound problems seemed to have been fixed by then and it was a pretty flawless show if I remember correctly.

Incidentally the name of this tour was actually The Ultimate Live Experience Tour and there were no dates in 94 (just me being picky, sorry! smile )

swanny

Should have been called the TDK tour for the sheer amount of samples and tapes.

Good tour but not a patch on Parade, SOTT, Lovesexy or ONA.
