Prince sounding like Larry Graham on some songs I'm listening to some Musicology Tour bootlegs, specifically the Opening Night boot, and on "Controversy" and at the end of the second verse he does some impressive vocal belting where he sounds like Larry Graham. In and of itself that is an amazing talent and wonder why he doesn't draw from that well more often in his songs. He has an ability to imitate different singers and draw from their vocal inflections and tone, it's surprising he doesn't do that more often for studio recordings. Live he does it all time. Last time I heard Prince stretch vocally was the Symbol album and "Same December". 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

prince was a major sly and family stone fan. when he did his camille voice that was him impersonating sly. forever in my life has the same melody as everday people. i think sign o the times was the album that he really expressed his appreciation for sly and larry

Come on people, Prince does do the deep Larry voice (similar to what Larry did in Sly and The Family Stone) on some tracks.
Make Your Mama Happy on Crystal Ball is a good example. Just somewhere in the middle,
