Lotusflow3r "loading"

Websites that "load" first... Isn't that, umm, kinda 90's?

Do you think it's really loading? Most websites these days start already loaded. Do you think it's to build suspense, when in actuality nothing's really being loaded?

Researchers have proven that people's attention spans online these days have become very small, and if you can't capture someone's attention within the first 3 seconds, they will move on to something else.

Knowing this, why would anyone create a site with a "loading" page... or an intro page?

No, it's because the website is entirely flash encoded. Most sites for video games are the same, some for movies also.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get it.

But why can't big national artists just make a simple site.

David Bowie, Prince, U2, Eminem and especially Radiohead.

They gotta make it all complicated.

Why do they feel that they always HAVE to be so cutting-edge?

It would be cutting-edge to NOT be cutting-edge once in a while.

It's the same on famous musician's myspace pages... They add all this bullshit and it takes 2 years just for the myspace page to load.

Then everyone would have something else to bitch and moan about! If it is not going to be cutting edge and great, then the naysayers would actually have their say!
Wake up!......Wake up!

My favorite website by a recording artist:

Their gimmick is, no gimmicks.

Is it me or is Prince being lumped an awful lot with U2 and Radiohead lately on this site? Personally, I don't see any relation between him and them, apart from they all (debatably) make music. confused

Now THAT is a badass website! I dig it a lot.

Although, synergy-wise, there is no rhyme or reason that connects the Raconteurs to an 80's-computer-vibe. It's just a neat site.

I like the fact that they went dos/retro. It made me laugh. Prince's site does not make me laugh. Or smile. Or smirk.

It's kind of annoying.

Of course not. I didn't know if I would be sucked into some weird dimension where the cast of "Rock Of Love - Bus Tour" rules the world or something.
