wonder how many 'new' songs there are on these albums...and how much is 'out-take' material from a while back.. if prince wants to give us 'ol' school stuff....maybe he should go further back into the vault.....somebody, can I get a'Witness' ?!! I am hoping Lotus Flower will be the centrepiece of the new shows...rather than Prince only playing 1 or 2 tracks I am hoping most of the album is strong enough to be played throughout the show.... we've been stuck in the past now for over 5 years of 'playing the hits for the last time'.... come on Prince...we're over the '80's' - you've done your thing with them songs..now lets see if you can really can compete with your ol' 80's stuff!!  i'm sick of the same old songs as well liveman, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |

Really though, I always thought the prevalence of MJ/Thriller in that movie (in present-day 1985) was a little outdated. I don't remember Thriller being all that "current" in 1985 . . . a year after Purple Rain dominated the world. I think they did that because it is a family movie and MJ was family-safe.
