What boggles me a lot is that Prince seems to 'present' his news first of all through sites like that of the Dr. Funkenberry, when he has his own site to present himself (lotusflow3r.com).

I mean, are people who are just generally interested in his music even able to find his own website by googling the word 'Prince'.

Does he really think that quasi-cryptic, quasi-mythological behaviour works nowadays?
I mean, it might have been considered 'fun' and/or 'artistic' in the eighties, but nowadays people using the internet are far more pragmatic: give me the adress where i can download that particular song I like, i dont carry about the whole album, or the artist in general....

Prince might think he is adding something 'extra' with his cryptic behaviour, but its simply worn out and dated.
But nowadays people see through when you are trying to sell mediocre music, with a lot of random shit around it.
They either go for the guilty pleasure (Fall Out Boy, Jonas Brothers, Rhianna, etc...) and dont start to wonder why they should excuse themselves for it, or they demand some maturity and creativity from the artist, you can't have both.
