ur gonna have 2 download the lyrics anyway

And that's shit. Just like with the lyrics for planet earth. All the people who are buying the PE album now don't get any lyrics at all. And if somebody here would provide a link to the file that was posted at 3121.com we would get problems with prince's lawywers because of "copyright infringement". I promise that the lyrics for the new albums won't be online for a long time also.

y would u really want the lyrics 2 c how crappy it truly is? big grin and there r ways 2 find the lyrics 2 all the songs on the album online without using prince's service
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

i dont understand what the bitching is about the packaging. I think its nicer than the stupid plastic crap that half the time is broke into pieces before its even opened.

to me it feels more special like a vinyl album cover.

put that on my itunes and put the album away and keep it nice looking

It's so cool that Prince chose Target. My favorite store. cool I hope this move goes well for him, and his album sells a lot of copies.

At least the crap plastic you can replace.
The eco-pa[c]kage/whatever you cannot easily replace.
And broken packages you shouldn't buy and have replaced by the shop owner.
If breakage occurs in transit the roads need fixing and/or better packaging is required.

oh i forgot that mainstream music chains allow you to exchange damaged jewel cases for new ones.

its a waste of resources.

take care of the digi pack like you would a vinyl recording and you wont have that problem.

jewel cases are for spoiled wasteful gluttonous brats

Only at the time of sale.
Who was implying freebies?

Why express yourself this way?
Cardboard boxes wear by putting them on a shelf.
Cardboard boxes are custom made and virtually irreplaceable.
A jewel case I can easily swap out.
Maybe you consider a CD as a throwaway medium/item.
I don't.
Maybe you handle stuff in a different way than I do.
But I cannot grab that way yet, because I think the way I handle digipacks is normal and still they wear visibly.

Prince was wise to partner with Target. Best Buy botched the roll-out of
G N'R's "Chinese Democracy" with its halfhearted approach to marketing.

after seeing the "smashing success" (ho ho ho) of the guns'n'roses album via best buy, i'm glad they dropped the ball. i think target has a far better success rate for a product like this, especially since electronic stores like best buy aren't exactly doing great in the current economy.

So yes, we both agree that his distribution deals are uneven, not always globally oriented and thus in need of upgrades?
wink

i don't think he's interested in being a well-oiled machine with distribution. i think he's trying to find new ways to distribute his music, which is going to mean a lot of trial and error, hit-and-miss, and burning of bridges. lol

it's frustrating for fans, but he has the clout to try some crazy new plan and know that he's going to move a respectable number of albums no matter what he tries.

as for him not announcing distribution plans ahead of time, well...how long have you been a prince fan? lol

Ur damn right Anx, but regardless of how long somone has been a fan for, it is acceptable to expect a normal distribution etc from shitty Prince. Ya? biggrin

do you read the charlie brown comic strips? you know when he plays football with lucy and she always moves the ball away just as he kicks, no matter how much she begs him to play football with her and no matter how much she promises it'll be different this time?

you are charlie brown. prince is lucy. lol

Not the original file and not on 3121.com. Prince could have learned from the past. Even in the "Rave un2 the joy fantastic" liner notes his then official site was mentioned, but it's gone for a long time. It's a bad concept not print the lyrics in the booklet but to provide them online.

i may work at walmart, but i'll go to target to buy Prince's new music.
it will work for him.
Prince and target- a good combo!

i'll buy it eventually, but won't be standing in line for it.

i have worked on special night/midnight releases

there isn't enough advil in the northern hemisphere, for me to be in any kind of line like that.

i was a cashier when "harry potter-deathly hollows" came out.eesh.
i remember the lines for "halo 3" and "call of duty"
and the "wii"

Not to mention, a lot of Target's money comes from "impulse" purchases. Many will buy it because of the price as well as the commercial.
