Prince told me that he doesn't want to distribute in the UK right now.
Then we'll just download it for free and laugh at all the suckers paying their $'s across the pond. lol lol lol lol

I'm sure there's logic somewhere in that statement, but I can't find it.

I was at a Coldplay concert in LA recently and Chris Martin said "We're from England!!" and the crowd booed! Not sure he was expecting that!

Woaw How smart! Moron.

I think I can guess where u live. Prince told me that he doesn't want to distribute in the UK right now. You'll just have to go without this time. Sorry.

My point is, every time Prince does a concert somewhere, or is about to release something...there's always a bunch of fools from the UK who say "what about us?" You never go without, so your pleading always ends up redundant and irrelevant...therefore I repeat "who cares about the UK?"

Next you'll be wondering if he'll be playing Glastonbury this year! It's just soooo boring.

Yea Prince talks to some random like you!

I'm just wondering when he will release it in the UK and how??? I mean Europe for a long time now has been his biggest market, his biggest following so just seems weird he wont strike a deal when we've got asda (wal mart), Tesco and other big retailers here.

? wink

I think for all non-americans the music will "only" be availabe through the site. That's not too bad, is it? Or do you want to be able to hold the CDs in your hands?

It could be that ea. one is $11.98 too. Not convinced yet about the price but happy we finally got a solid date. As far as sunday's release date I remember somoeone recently released their album on a sunday at Borders methinks.

It's possible that Yahoo news fucked up and it will be $11.98 for each CD (which is about the going price during their sales). $11.98 for 3 Cds sounds unbelievable!

It's a shame that Prince is going to support Target. This store and its ilk has made a terrible impact on the US, destroying inner cities, increasing vehicle miles traveled, producing unsightly sprawl, encouraging fragile and carbon-emitting global food supply lines, and harming local economies.

I hope an online-only option is available so that conscientious buyers can bypass Target.

Could be worse...could be Wal-Mart, which does that to towns and then LEAVES!

And there will be an online option....through Target! It's possible Prince will sell it through his site but I can't imagine him matching that price (AC/DC did for I believe the same price as Wal-Mart and with free shipping...I bought their release through there but I doubt many others did).

Seems to be an odd bout of desperation to sell 3 CD's for that cheap. Is he afraid that they won't sell and by setting a low price....trying to get people to buy them???
I would recheck that price before I run to Target in search of this deal that is too good to be true....but if it is...hey a bonus

I'm not too concerned, I'll be able to download the stuff from his site and there will always be a relatively simple way to get the physical discs for the collection.

This isnt Prince's first venture with a "retailer" as a primary source for his release. REDLINE entertainment, released "Rainbow Children", Redline is owned by Best Buy, and when this album came out at first it was only available at Best Buy and Sam Goody (which Best Buy owned at the time).

However Target?? i dont know about them as the primary retailer for anything, mainly because they are so hard to find, believe it or not, in major cities, where PRINCE has most of his fans.So im guessing alot of people will be doing the Target.com ordering

They've actually been opening up more and more stores in inner-cities. Of the ones I know about there's one in Brooklyn, Manhattan and in DC.
Change it one more time..

I suppose if it's a 3-CD set in a single package that explains why we haven't seen covers for MPLSound or Elixir--and would also explain the 3 in "lotusflow3r".

As for the price, I want to say it costs under $2.00 per disc to print a CD (assuming you do it in volume). Which means a three disc set with packaging might only cost about $6.00 to produce. Sell it for $12 and Target probably gets 3 bucks and Prince gets 3 bucks. So, sell a million copies and Prince gets $3-million. Bria, on the other hand, most likely gets a hug and a copy of the Watchtower. lol
