I'm the youngest of 5 kids and all my siblings and my cousins were huge Prince fans before I paid too much attention. They even used to tell me that I looked like him and it made me so mad. As I got older, it was just a natural progression for me to check out his music because it was always there. By the time I was 14, I was a die hard fan, trying to hear everything I could get my hands on. And now, like you I'm sure, I have to hip then to what he's doing! Yeah, I can relate to your story...my relatives used to laugh at me saying that I look like him also and that he was my daddy...I used to be so mad - my dad looks nothing like him -may-be a relative....Kids could be so cruel - I'm only like 10 years younger than my uncle, and my baby aunts are only like 8 and 6 years older than me...(my mom is the oldest out of 7 kids-she used to watch all her siblings)...I also remember going to a baby sitter while in school during the Purple Rain days and the kids were forming a mock band of the revolution and I was supposed to be Prince but they decided to kick me out and make this dude him and they demoted me to Dr. LOL! I was a girl for God's sake LOL! That's too cute. They could've at least let you be Sheila E.! I remember a rumor got started at my highscool that Prince was my cousin. I SWEAR I didn't start it!

When You Love Prince from the beginning, His Music and his tenderness just become a natural escort to your life.
I guess they say that Love, "Just Is." "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

The first 15 years because he was fucking astonishing! I was young and impressionable and with his antics and musical prowess, Prince made quite the lasting impression on me. His music was the soundtrack to my youth.
The next 5 years were cool, not as much fun as the first 15 but I was willing to along for the ride because I was sure the destination would be worth the trip. No one could have paid me then to believe where we'd end up. The last 10 years, I honestly don't know. Nostalgia? Likely! Morbid curiosity? Perhaps! I'm a sadistic masochist? Bingo! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

simply seeing him live, his live performances are untouched, by anyone! but his albums have been, on occasions, mediocre to say the least. still buy them, still love him. but he sure makes it hard at times. fan since 83, and will always be!! may u live 2 see the dawn
