Saw Purple Reign in Vegas, they were pretty good and I got a high five from fake Prince smile . Probably no chance of getting high fived by real Prince.

As far as tribute acts go, I preferred Purple Rain here in the UK.
RIP sad

They are GOOD.

And how can anyone not love a band called "AC/DShe"? LMFAO, brilliant!

But NO ONE can beat midget KISS tribute bands:

http://www.minikissonline.com/ (You HAVE to watch the video of them in the parade!)

And you only need to watch THIS one for 10 seconds (trust me)

Rival bands clash over little-person KISS tribute
By Robert W. Welkos
April 11, 2006 in print edition E-2
They might be pint-sized performers onstage, but offstage they’re in a giant-sized dispute.

Joey Fatale, the 4-foot, 4-inch New Yorker who heads the all-dwarf KISS tribute band MiniKiss, is denying published reports that he tried to sneak past security last month at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas to confront a rival band leader, 4-foot “Little” Tim Loomis of Tiny Kiss, for allegedly ripping off his idea for such a group.

Loomis, a former drummer for MiniKiss, was performing with Tiny Kiss, which includes three little people and a 350-pound woman, on St. Patrick’s Day at Beacher’s Madhouse, a Las Vegas variety show, when the incident occurred.

Show host Jeff Beacher told The Times on Monday that Fatale “tried to sneak in saying he was Tiny Kiss” and had to be escorted from the premises. According to the New York Post, Fatale’s lawyers sent a legal cease-and-desist letter to the show trying to shut down the act.

Loomis told the Post: “[Fatale] came out here [to Las Vegas] and tried to cause trouble, so I had him 86’d from the Hard Rock. The impression I got was that he was looking for a fight. He’d been threatening me over the phone.”

But Fatale disputed the accusation, telling The Times: “This whole thing about me going to the Hard Rock with my gang – that didn’t happen. What happened was, I went there because somebody told me [Tiny Kiss was] doing the show that night

Fatale says he has “nothing to say” about Loomis, except, “He’s a nice guy.” And, he added, “This is all a big publicity act for the guy at Beacher’s.”

nuts I tried to go see these guys when I was in Vegas but unfortunately it was at the same time the Monte Carlo was shut down cause of a fire so didn't get a chance.

Stop hating on these guys. Its all in good fun. I don't think they will be going anywhere, they have been playing in Vegas for a while. I am sure if Prince could or wanted to shut them down he already would have. I bet Prince gets a kick out of seeing this! I think we all know that Prince does have those moves anymore so its nice to see them replicated.

Everyone knows this does not even come close to the real thing but it is still fun to watch. Besides how many of us are guilty of getting on stage and singing some Prince karaoke songs? I know I am. This guy is just lucky enough to get paid for it.

Looks like they are at the House of Blues tomorrow. Think I'll check them out.

"And then there is Prince. Notoriously media shy, the Purple One did meet Jason Tenner, who performs a Prince tribute (purplereign.net) in Las Vegas. But Tenner said he couldn’t tell one way or another if Prince approved of his act, and he characterized the meeting as “different.”

“He doesn’t seem to mind me,” Tenner said. “He doesn’t try to shut me down.”

Like most tribute bands, Tenner’s Prince came about slowly. In 1996, he went out for Halloween dressed as Prince. “People were following me around, going, ‘Oh, my God! It’s Prince!’” he said. Eventually it grew from a few songs to an entire performance.

Tenner’s act covers the “Purple Rain” era of 1984 through 1994 or so. His act even includes a Morris Day and the Time component. “My bass player said, ‘Man, there’s a guy down at Macy’s shoe department who looks just like Morris,’” Tenner recalled. “As it turned out, he wasn’t lying. And he was a singer and an entertainer."

Sounds like Prince don't mind. Cool!

I've been a Prince fan for over 25 years and have seen him live more than 20 times, including upfront near the stage. When I first saw Purple Reign and before getting too much into the music , I watched him (Jason) very closely. Now, many people can do the splits, but this dude definitely has his mannerisms down!! When I go to Vegas seeing Purple Reign is the main attraction for me. I've seen other look-a-likes/tibute bands and this is as close as it gets folks!!! Met Jason and the band several times. They are great! These guys are very talented and play with a very tight sound!! Jason and his brother Lavant former Morris Day) have some original music as well and it sounded great when I heard it. I tell you folks, when it comes to Prince tributes... it doesn't get any better than this!
