That's pretty funny. Everyone is planning his party before he even knew he was supposed to be throwing one. lol

Sounds cool that he'll be filming it to be released on the new website. Now, if only he'd actually get it fully functioning, then we'd have something.

Him shooting it is truly badass. If it's like the whole thing that we can download?

It will mean Prince finally GETS some of what the modern internet era is about, and how he can really make money selling some video of his Oscar party to people online for $9.99 or something.

Yes, I'd rather it be free, but...this is Prince biggrin
I wanna be loved to the 9s, so let me cover your ass with this sheet, and baby, you better stay on the beat! Cause you know the Karma Sutra? I can rewrite it. But, with half as many words.

Believe it when you see it. Plus, don't be shocked if when you can view it, you only see snippets of the show and not the whole thing. Just letting you know what could happen, so don't shoot the messenger and don't be shocked if any of these things happen.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

So let me get this straight, because I'm confused about something.

From the first rumblings about Prince having an Oscar afterparty, certain language has been used in the reports to make it clear to everyone how exclusive Prince's party was going to be, how very small and intimate. Then the article comes out stating that the earlier reports of a party were false, and that Prince wasn't having an Oscar party. Then, yet another update saying he decided to hold one because that actress had called him to RSVP (to a party he wasn't having).

That Prince's Oscar party was going to be so extremely exclusive and hard to get into was a main point being made in those initial reports, and if Prince himself had never sent out invitations and was 'surprised' when this actress contacted him to RSVP, my question is Why did this actress even call Prince to RSVP to his party in the first place? Did she just assume she'd be invited to this super-exclusive, very small intimate Oscar afterparty, or does she have a standing invitation to all Prince's parties? Or do things in Hollywood work in such a way that when a celeb hears about a particular party they want to attend, they 'RSVP' (before getting an actual invitation to said party) to let the host know their interest in being invited? confuse

Basically I just don't understand why somebody would RSVP to a (then) non-existent party for which she presumably never even had received an actual invitation?

Valid and logical question. The answer is because Prince was planning on having a party all along. He just wanted more celebrity press time with two stories instead of one. Probably struck up the idea for creating two stories the same day he sent out the $ has leaked via an actress story to Fakenberry. Prince is a marketing whiz, after all. Just look at how his recent albums have sold. Planet Earth is still on the charts, isn't it?

Can't wait to hear reports from the show. I bet this will be the time he really nails that Sly Stone medley. Or show up every bar band in the country with a cover of The Cars' 'Let's Go.' The song's only what, 30 years old? But he makes it seem like it's only 20 or 25 years old. And if the crowd is really lucky, they might be treated to a rare performance of Let's Go Crazy.
No hard feelings.

And how did she just happen to know his phone number? Do they have a special phonebook made up to hand out to all the celebs? lol
