ONA CD-- Unofficial Refund? I was just thinking when I saw the post someone else made about seeing ONA for sale on E-bay. I have also seen many other reports of people, myself included, wanting to buy the extra piano CD you guys got.
So, I was led to two conclusions, or a combination of both. Either: 1) They underestimated the number of members that were going to join and printed too many cds; or 2) Looking at all the complaints, they included the CD for their members to sell to people like me as an unofficial way of giving members back some of their money. I know this wouldn't be the best approach, but then members can say "Hey, I got an exclusive CD, plus the ONA live set, and I sold my spare ONA for $40.00 on E-Bay, which means I only paid $60.00 for the year. What a deal, I'm joining again!" At the same time, NPGMC never officially has to say they may have gipped their members. If one manages to sell their spare ONA for even $20.00, all of a sudden the club is not too bad a deal for many. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. I don't think the extra ONA album is meant for sale . . .
I think it's merely a cost-cutting packaging arrangement for Prince: ALL the box sets will contain the same merchandise, regardless of who they go to. This saves on time and confusion in the shipping of these box sets, since there won't be 2 different versions. Those of us who already received it - we just get an extra one. The cost is minimal to Prince. If you feel the need to "sell" your ONA album to someone else to justify your NPGMC membership, then go ahead. It's not a bad idea, really. I prefer to keep mine unopened, just in case the original gets messed up.

None of the cds released by the NPGMC are "allowed" to be sold on ebay. When they are discovered they are removed at once.
Once the cd's go to retail, then I imagine they could be sold on ebay.
