I have known about Prince since Purple Rain, but I was only 4 at the time so I was not a fan. I officially call myself a fan as of the day I bought my first album, the symbol album: December 17, 1992.

Since Purple Rain - 1984 - so 24 years now - I am 38 - so most time of my life - and I still love his music the same!!!!

Since i was about 8. Im now 25. I used to listen to Love Sexy on tape from my dad's collection. thinkin it was rude coz he was naked on the front! haha.

Since 1978. I was 9 then. Yeah, I was a grown-ass little girl. Despite that, mom had me on lock. No Prince concerts until I was 16. Then when I was old enough to go, couldn't get a ticket to save my life!

Being a teacher now, I'm glad mom had since enough to censor what I listened to, even though I'd try to sneak and listen to "Do Me Baby" on the radio -- ear pressed up to to Mom's red velvet speakers!..I usually got caught, and mom would say,

"Sweetheart, those are mature lyrics for older teens and young adults. It's not for you. Turn it off."

Since 1986/87, I did my first Black History Report on him when I was in the 1st grade. I'm 28 years old so about what 22 years.

20 years for me since i was 14, went to my first concert in Cork Ireland 2 years later, and that was it for me, loved him ever since!

i got into prince when i heard black sweat on a music channel and after that i bought 3121, really liked it and now my collection has reached 31 albums and still growing and loving everysong he realeses pretty much, i think his new stuff is awsome and really think planet earth is awsome album, defo in my top 5 album list

Since Jan 1990 [36 now], when I went to England to learn English. I got into him through an English friend over there and mostly by dancing with her on his music in clubs. I loved his music before that but I didn't know enough English to understand the lyrics, plus I didn't get much exposure to American pop/rock music groing up in Belgium.
And sadly, I was still playing with my dolls during Purple Rain...

Since 98'

27 years for me. It was 1981 and i remember the Prince album being in the house. My uncle was killing Why U Wanna Treat Me So Bad and i've been hooked ever since. I'm 38 now

I've been a fan from the very beginning of Prince's career with 'Soft and Wet', but when Controversy came out...I was hooked!!

I first found out about Prince in 1991 when I was 5 and saw him shaking that sweet yellow ass in the backless trousers on MTV and have been kinda digging him ever since. I've been a "serious" fan since 2006 and have been wearing out the Lovesymbol album! LOL!
