If Princes last album was ATWIAD?

If Prince kept his promise to never tour and record again in 1985, would you still be a huge fan like you are now? ATWIAD was his last record to be recorded. He quit he's done.
He was looking for the Ladder at the time. I remember Johnny Carson stating this on the tonight show, and Johnny laughing his ass off. Prince made all kinds of strange statements during the 80's.

So how much impact would he still have on you? Would there be so much hoopla about him still to this day? There's a lot of great musicians who only made a few albums, and they're still praised I.E. Jimi Hendrix 4 studio albums.
In my opinion, yes he'd still be my favorite. BUT thank God he didn't stop!

Well, I would miss out on two of my favorites, Parade and Sign O the times. Two crucial albums that are part of his "middle period" before his so called spiritual awakening of Lovesexy. He still produced alot of good stuff post 1985.

ok, for those of you that think prince hasn't been in his prime since 87, realize that prince has done something truly amazing...he has become the greatest guitar player of all time...if you attended or heard the celebration, you know this...So while he may not have written a song like when doves cry or sign o the times ina while...he has absolutely trancended to a ridiculous level of guitar playing. He is a different kind of artist now. To me he is in a second prime these days. If you have bootlegs, listen to the guitar solo on sign o the times from this years celebration...wicked!!

I hate when Prince makes silly "announcements" to the press, like his so-called retirement from live performance in 1985.Then in 1993,he announced that he was gonna retire from music and that every album would be filled with old songs from the vaults. He's always doing these silly publicity stunts. You have to take almost anything he says with a grain of salt.

I never took him seriously when he announced it. shrug

Jimi released 4 studio albums? What was the 4th one?

the Guy is always pulling out some of that "HollyWood" Shuck&Jive about leavingpeople hanging.it only counts when you are still on Top or in the Game.He would never say that mess nowadays? if that had have been His Last Album He would left with a Puzzling Vibe&Feel.

He kinda filled old stuff back in 93 since he changed his name... Yeah you have to take a step back at those anouncement and ... the rest is history...
