"Trippy, experimental pop songs..."

In lui of the proposed 3 new P albums especially MPLSound, I thought it would be cool to point out some of P's best Trippy experimental pop songs. Since that phrase was used to describe afermentioned album.
BTW, it may be may favorite side of P's songwriting.

a few to start with:
Starfish & Coffee
Around the World In A Day
Rasberry Beret
Moutains
Digital Garden
Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

Interesting question.

Would Paisley Park or Erotic City qualify?

Me thinks Batdance would qualify.

I Wish U Heaven
Tangerine
Curious Child
Girls and Boy's
Everybody's looking 4 the ladder
Everybody wants salvation of the soul

Obviously Anna Stesia.

But also to a lesser degree Temptation, Joy in Repetition, and The Future/Electric Chair (for me anyway.

I almost said that one.
I think if stuff was too funky or jazzy I didn't include them.
But ya know, they still qualify as "Trippy, experimental pop songs" right?

Though I'm not convinced the song isn't a reference to E. He is known to have fiddled around with party drugs in the past.

I'm not sure I'd really consider Power Fantastic a pop song. Don't know how I'd describe it, but to me it sounds to come from a darker place than pop music usually does.

Dream Factory is made of awesome. If I ever get the chance to go to a Prince gig, I'd die and go to heaven if he played this song.

Dave1992

The synth line in P Control is pretty crazy and experimental, but still it sounds commercial and so does the crazy chorus.

Joint 2 Joint, definitely.

IIWYG

Sometimes It Snows In April, I feel in love with that sus chord in the chorus, so exceptional and unexpected, but still amazingly beautiful.

Condition Of The Heart

Lovesexy has some experimental jams on too

Why not?
