I found out who Prince was when I was 4. Became a fan when I was 5 with Purple Rain. Became a diehard fan at 12 and now I'm 29 and will be 30 in March. That makes it 24 years this year. That's pretty much my whole life right there

Been hooked ever since I saw him at the 02 last year, once was'nt enough so ended up going to 14 shows, since then collected all his cds, dvds, can't get enough of his music.

Since i heard Soft and Wet. That was the jam.

Controversy got me interested... 1999 got me hooked.

So about 26-27 years.

What defines a "real fan"? A Prince tattoo? or just being full of yourself?

I will never forget how I was "turned on" to Prince...
When I was a little girl, around the age of 5 or 6 (old enough to really start to enjoy and sing music and so forth) my mother would put on the Little Red Corvette record...BIG ole record...and while she cleaned the house, listening to it, I would just dance and dance...I remember that NOTHING else stuck to me like Prince, so I started asking her to play more! That was 26 years ago! I still LOVE this mans work...
His music speaks to my mind, body, heart and soul unlike ANY other musician ever has. Hard to explain, but there is my story!

I became a real "fan" during Pruple rain. I had his poster on my wall. I also had a bunch of "teen beat" magazine posters on my wall too. Anyone remember those? Funny.

My sister took me to see Under the Cherry Moon in the theatres but I was too young to really appreciate it and I think I fell asleep. The first album I bought myself was probably Diamonds & Pearls and have been pretty consistently a hardcore fan ever since. So about 17 years.
