Damn! This reminds me of the stuff I saw on youtube about Led Zeppelin plagiarizing blues songs. It also reminds me of when I heard Betty Davis' song F.U.N.K. (right after hearing and buying Prince's version of the song.) If it's true, and word gets out, I think it will spell the beginning of the end for the Purple One.

But it's really hard to tell who really wrote some of the songs that made Prince famous (whether or not Andre or Dez wrote this song or that song...), so at this point, what really matters to me is the songs themselves.

I'm just sayin', nothing more... But maybe there's more to be said (non-disclosure arguments, etc.)

Sure, there's a little similarity in the chorus, but jeebus, there's only 12 notes in the western musical tradition, and only so many rhythms available to you within the stardard 4/4 pop genre! When you consider just how many melodies have been published in the last 100 years, there's bound to be some similarities along the way. It's just a coincidence. Anyone with any sort of understanding of music theory can tell you that.

As I have no understanding of the Italian language, my only hope is that this whole fiasco is just a joke that's been misinterpreted by us non-Italians.

i doubt prince plagiarized anything. TMBGITW is a fairly standard chord progression it could be mistaken for other songs with the same progression

I'm sorry but this is NOT karma by any means. I'm listening to the song right now and all I can hear is like ONE instance where the tone of a line or two sounds the same. Other than that, it's bullsh*t.

"Now I'll be painting your name in the sky.." is the part that sort of sounds like a part in the song. There's nothing else and I dunno what this pair is on, but um...there are tons of songs out there that have similar tones and it's not on purpose. If that's the case, we need to get critical. If one artist uses an F sharp in a song, that means every other person after him or her should get sued down to the marrow for copying.

It's silly and I hope these two idiots enjoy their money while it lasts IF they get any. It never hurts to have a backup plan if your career fails. I guess they didn't. Whatever.Song kinda sucks anyway..

Here is how I would judge this one. If someone placed this song in a cd player, and I had not been told of the plagerism accusation, I would not say... "Hey, that sounds just like the most beautiful girl in the world."

I think that it is just an unlikely circumstance.
