I actually haven't listened to a prince song in 3 months, and I have already gotten rid of my collection. I"m done. I wouldn't post if I wasn't serious. I have better things to do, and there is so much music to listen too. It isn't worth my time. This is my last comment on Prince.org. I'm asking for my acount to be removed. I will no longer affiliate with anything that celebrates prince, his music, or anything he stands for.

you're right, there is so much other and better music 2 listen 2 today, damn right! In the 8ties everyone idolized pop stars like Prince, Jackson and Madonna but these silly days are long gone, WAKE UP, people should care and listen to some other new music by other artists, Prince is cool but i didn't like the ONA concert i saw this year, i missed the passion of earlier concerts, it wasn't anything special, i had the feeling he was fooling his crowd with some old tricks.

The club belongs to Prince! When are some of you going to realize that just because you support him does not mean you OWN him.

I'd like to follow some of you people around and watch your every move and rate your every decision and tell you what an ass you are!

I feel for Prince sometimes... I really do...

Why are telling us? If you really feel this way, don't post...just delete the damn acount and move on.

The reason he's telling us is because he has an emotional investment in it. Prince has done a good job of shutting out the public. People in general don't give 2 shits about the silly midget from St. Paul who used to preach positivity and now thinks he's a revival preacher. Therefore, those of us who are still here have an extra emotional attachment or investment. We have a relationship to maintain and when Prince fails us (Which he's been making a point of doing lately) it really hurts. Wahday spent time and energy loving Prince. He spent $ and he probably preached the gospel of Prince to his friends like the rest of us did. He's angry and he has a right to be. In fact I would say those of you who don't think Prince is being a shit lately are probably psychoticly negative people yourselves who like being pushed around because you all have some kind of martyr complex. Why am I still here? I'm just a no name reporter

Fair. I'm absolutely the stupidest person on the planet. I am so low. I just don't get anything. I put Prince up on a pedestal. I am a tired stupid sack of crap who has no right to his opinion and sure as hell should never have posted it here where a genius of the recording industry and god of the entire universe like you resides to rain down TRUTH on troglodytes like me. Thank you for your input. I have changed all my beliefs and interpretations to match with yours. I will no longer think or differ from your greatness in any way. I hang my head in shame.

the Prince defenders and indeed the NPGMC, endlessly trot out the tired line concerning how the club benefits the members in getting the best tickets for the shows... the aftershows, soundchecks etc.

Prince will do a soundcheck whether anyone is there or not, its not a big thing really, but i can understand people being pleased to be there.
the aftershows, again, very nice for people to get in free... but again, he would probably do one anyway.
And the best seats? Surely the best seats, along with the crap seats are there to be sold.. if the members didnt buy them, the general public would so that really aint such a big thing either. But still, nice to be offered them first eh?

But what people on here dont seem to realise, is that u are paying for the privilige of buying tickets which are three, four even five times the cost of most other artists shows.

So to recap, Prince charges X times amount for tickets for which u have to pay a very expensive club membership charge in order to buy them!!

And £50 for a one nite alone 3cd set? he's kidding right?
I saw "Emancipation" on sale for £7 today, so I think I shall wait a while for the price to drop... considerably lol

Loty of people seem to be really harsh with prince and the club... When you love too much some artist you ask too much of him... It is a question of distance... The club is an improving concept (that needs to be improved but it will) as for the future, wait and see... My concert experience suffices to say it was worth it!!!

About the celbration: don't tell me you thought prince was going to pay you the plane trip!!!

Peace to all of you!!

Maybe my expectations are too low, but the music club is more than what I expected. By February I'll have 4 CDs. Granted, I am slightly saddened that these CD will not have anything I have never heard before on them. Since I am not into the bootleg scene this is my only opportunity to hear recordings from some of his shows. I have had access to sit in the first 15 rows at a concert for an artist whose music I love. I have been attending Prince concerts since '81 and I have only been able to get that close since joining the club. I went to the Celebration once and had the opportunity to go a second time. I've talked to Prince and as much as I love Luther Vandross I can't say I've ever talked to him.

For those people who do not live in the US or who don't really go to concerts I can see how the club would be a waste of money. But for someone like me this has been a dream come true. If Prince ended the club tomorrow and never sent me another CD I would be disappointed, but my $100 would be well spent.

I just don't understand why there are some people who expected Prince to create 4 exclusive CDs, send them out throughout the year, and never allow the rest of the world to buy them. This is a business and the business is about making money. I didn't expect anything else. Why did you?

--
A voice of reason!!! It is a business and people on this site do not understand that at all. If they had used some common sense they would have realized that some of the material in the club would find its way to retail just like the Crystal Ball set. I do not expect Prince to give anything a way for free he has always been about the money. If he was not about handling his money he would not have the funds to tour and record without the support of a major label but do not expect people on this site to understand that. I just hope he closes the club down because I am tired of these post.

I mean who wouldn't want to spend money on a club for exclusive music, and then get something anyone can buy at best buy for 40 dollars less?

I don't have time to read all this shit but can someone PLEASE explain the whole "exclusive music" thing to me?? It's like people get upset when he makes the music available to the masses when that's exactly what he should be doing! nuts

How many times have you said to a friend, "you gotta hear this song!" Or, "you've never seen Prince live??!! omfg" Good NESS, it's not like WE have to "pay" for the box set like everyone else - it's already paid for along w/ "preferred seating", soundchecks, cheap/free aftershows, blah blah blickety blah.

If you're not happy w/ membership just don't rejoin - all the music's gonna be released anyway, wait & buy it retail. That's another thing membership pays for, having first crack @ the music. If it's not worth it to you, save your $100 & go walk your fucking dog or something.

DAMN, how many "I'm upset!!" threads do we have to have on this?? The only REASONABLE gripe here - that Xenophobia (or something else new) wasn't the 4th cd of the set. "I spit on him"??? WTF??? Get a grip, people... neutral

Well said (read this in a "steeles" style)!!!

I am satisfied (just for a change in the declarations made here!), so I'm in for 2003...

Nothing wrong w/being upset, it's just the Latest Fashion to disguise your "I'm leaving the org" thread as an "I'm done with Prince" thread. They'll probably be more for us to bear, as they can't get enough of a grip on reality to just walk away--They have to make a whole broadway production of it.

I bet these ONA disks are all over The File Sharing Networks by now!

Why cry if most folks are going to burn'em, and give 'em away anyway?

Hell, I'd tell members the same thing (nowadays...)

Well said!!! If you get shorted change at a fast food place or a retail store, you demand what is owed you, or demand your money back. If said business really pisses you off, you don't bring your business back there anymore. And move on.
People keep coming back to Prince for more stuff despite the lack of business savvy/customer service of the club, and cry a river like this is something new to being a fan. Either keep your money and so you won't be pissed off and wait for the music in retail, or just chill out and wait like other members have.

Were people talking about exclusivity for the Music Club on the old ppml in the mid-nineties? So why would you bring it up?

If you will read his post he said, "it isn't only about exclusivity" which obviously means that in a small part it is, but yet you freak. Hmmm...

I just hope he closes the club down because I am tired of these post.

A voice of reason my ass--it isn't only about exclusivity...pay attention.

Some of this is about exclusivity as people have been complaining about the set being in the stores. I have been paying attention to this site off and on since the mid 90's you pay f@#$%ing attention.

I said it isn't "only" about exclusivity which is what the poster was mainly referring too!...pay attention and read! Who cares if you've been reading since the mid-90's...Ive been reading since 1998, where the hell are my brownie points?!

---
it isn't only about exclusivity but that is what I am discussing in my response asshole. I am comparing this to the Crystal Ball set. You do not need brownie points you need a kick in the ass.

A voice of reason!!! It is a business and people on this site do not understand that at all. If they had used some common sense they would have realized that some of the material in the club would find its way to retail just like the Crystal Ball set. I do not expect Prince to give anything a way for free he has always been about the money. If he was not about handling his money he would not have the funds to tour and record without the support of a major label but do not expect people on this site to understand that. Now now...let's not have a flame war...aw, who am I kidding?
A little flaming is good for the soul, but debate can certainly be made w/out having to kick someone's booty!
unless that's your thing lol

Were people talking about exclusivity for the Music Club on the old ppml in the mid-nineties? So why would you bring it up?

If you will read his post he said, "it isn't only about exclusivity" which obviously means that in a small part it is, but yet you freak. Hmmm...

---
People were discussing the Crystal ball set at the time that it appeared in the stores. I am saying that if he did this with CB and with TRC why are people shocked. The exclusivity is one of the things that people complain about the most. I did not freak I just responded to his post. Rd went into smart-ass land and I just responded.
