Prince spotted 5 times on Elvis Lives special on NBC NBC showed five different clips of Prince while talking about Elvis and his influence on other artists during the "Elvis Lives" segment which aired on Thanksgiving.
They showed a clip from Purple Rain, A slow-motion shot of Prince in the assless pants performing "Gett Off" at the MTV video awards. Another shot of Prince dancing at the 1991 MTV video awards. A shot of Prince's cheek with "Slave" written on it and a segment from the VH1 Fashion awards where Prince performed P-Control. And finally a quick shot of Prince in the Little Red Corvette video. The excitement was almost seeing unparalleled Prince on tv 5 times in one night  | |

yeah actually luvy was watching that upstairs and she told me they showed a few clips of Prince on it, including the famous buttless yellow pants! lol 8) no joke!   | |

Did they mention Prince by name on the show, or how they feel Prince, in particular, was influenced by Elvis?
And, does anybody think they asked Prince to appear on the show? Just wonderin'. | |

I saw it...it seemed like every time someone was commenting on how Elvis was able to mesh different kinds of music (blues, rock, etc.) and how he crossed racial boundaries, they would show a montage of other artists that may have done the same thing, and nearly every time, they would show Prince. In that context, I find it rather complimentary. | |
