I've never heard this song talked about on here. How does everyone like his version of this Bonnie R. Song?

It's Breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL. I Love his version.

I thought it was one of the better tracks on "Emancipation".

Prince's version is VERY HEARTFELT! For some reason his version is SADDER than BONNIES.

i absolutely despise it. he completely butchered one of my favorite songs by transforming it into a bland r&b slow-jam seduction ballad.

Frankly, i appreciate both versions. Prince's more soulful and perhaps he was at the end of a relationship.

I didn't like it. It seemed like a pointless remake on an album that had several pointless remakes, and it didn't add anything.

And I think it was the first time one of his lyrics offended me. Changing the words at the end seemed like such an incredibly tasteless thing to do to the song. Yeah, I'm probably overreacting, but there you go.

I guess I never considered the original to be much more than a pop Ballad. Bonie's flirtations with pop were brilliant actually. But I guess it wasn't the same thing to me as what he did to Radiohead's Creep.

I like his rendition of Creep, but he could have easily made his own song in that spirit instead of completely turning their teenage angst anthem (albiet admittedly not one of their great songs) into his own Gospel-like thing. He actually tried to make it uplifting. talk about undermining

I can't stand that song - regardless of who sings it. It's just beyond stupid. "I now realize that you don't love me and never will - but sleep with me, anyway. C'mon - for old times sake." Truly pathetic.

i'm glad you have brought up this song,about a month ago now i was playing this song often ,revisiting it. i love the song. both versions ,prince does this song very well. nice to know others are with me in this one, i was curious too.
