This is the funniest bootleg, because the Italian bootleggers had the nerve to credit themselves as co producers and song writers. They also titled the songs and the name of the album based on what they thought they heard. So we can funk became we can fall, data bank became pretty face(how did they hear pretty face instead of data bank? LOL.) and the album title is from a line taken out of the Prince version of the song all day all night. In that song Prince calls himself the chocolate fox,but the bootleggers thought they heard "chocolate box".

It's not that surprising. Firstly, as you point out, the titles were supplied by people who did not have English as their first language. secondly, they did quite well considering the amount of hiss coming off those early bootlegs. At times it sounded like Prince had recorded the stuff from inside a chocolate box.

LOL...I love how the bootleggers frequently use WRONG song titles.It's hilarious seeing what they come up with...


"U Got Time Baby" (supposed to be "The Ride")
"Pretty Face" (supposed to be "Data Bank")
"When You're Mine" (supposed to be "When You Were Mine")

Mid-80's people just recieved a tape and had to figure out the titles of the songs. Those given titles were the ones they used in their 'communication'. After a while... a lot of people were using those titles and therefor, those titles were given to tracks on bootlegs.

For instance:
- Expert lover (= Crystal Ball)
- If you break my heart one more time (= Last Heart)
- A better place 2 die (= Moonbeam Levels)

For example moonbeam levels; how were they at the time supposed to know what the title should be...?
Isn't the title not just a choice from the writer?

one i bought was "Charade" last year for $20 on a vinyl. Cool cardboard cover. lol!

The album, had fake names for the songs on it, I guess covering up for anyone else who suspected it of being a boot (even though it had Prince on the cover)
