well, i judge and decide end of year (february.03) and also consider in how we get promised and they react in responding on critical questions and most of all: what 2003 will b on programm (4ex, if an accustic tour is on his way... which i don't blieve, but might b - then i want my best places again... ) - we shall c, patience is the key word

NOT until whatever he has up his sleeve starts to be realized like a tour and full album information but I'll probably wait until fans start receiving, downloading whatever new music he promises...

I don't know yet. This will probably depend on wether or not he will be touring in my area next year. I joined last mai and haven't received anything yet, not even ONA. If members received some exclusive material which the general public couldn't purchase in stores at at later date, then I'd be much more enthusiastic about joining again. We'll see.

for me ... the "main benefit" to the club has ... and will remain (IMO) ... the front row seats and soundcheck kinda stuff ...

so if he is tourin ... i will join ...

i would not join ...just for the "piano medley cd" which i never listen to ...

and a boxed set which will be in the stores ...

I will definitely be re-joining. I have been a member since day one and have no complaints. Not only has the downloaded music been great in year one but getting the perks during the tour makes it even more special.

Have been a fan now for 20 years. Once a Prince fan always a Prince fan. I will certainly have no hesitation in re-joinig the NPG Music Club when my membership runs out.

I was really looking forward to Xenophobia, and
the other 2 CD's...but, look at what i've received
for this year's membership...

1. a beautiful piano medley CD, ONA woot!
2. an amazing soundcheck in Detroit. woot!
3. 2 breathtaking shows, with great seating woot!
4. an invitation, members only, to paisley park for the
Celly. woot!
5. 7 GREAT shows in Paisley Park.woot!
6. Now, the ONA Live CD, with soundboard quality! woot!

Hell yeah, where do i sign up???
Make no mistake, Prince is the greatest artist of our time.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

That's disgusting that you paid a hundred dollars on a credit card(interest)and didn't get ANYTHING. You should
E-mail NPG about getting One nite alone. Even so $100.00 for one EP like album and a 3 disc set of live versions
of already released songs?

Prince is a dirty guy. After this year this will be the end of the NPGMC

The scary thing is I probably will still join. I mean I have to. I want Prince product. It would be nice as hell to take a year off though..a complete year off. This may be a litmus(sp?) test to how much, how tired, some folks are and can stand. A perfect time to take a well needed vacation from his ass.

How much did you pay extra for the concert ticks and the celebration ticks by the way?...

I won't be joining.

There's better stuff available on bootleg, and they provide it at a better cost and on time. Not to mention whats available for download for free.

Its obvious you can still get front row tickets at Prince shows without being a member of the club, just ask the 10 rows of people that were in front of me at the cleveland show. Besides, his venues are so small, even shitts seats are great seats, and much cheaper too.

The retail is a joke.

The site is slow and hardly updated.

Promises are made and seldomly lived up to.

I can go on...

Yep! I will.
One really can not say $100 a year is a lot of money.
We're talking about Prince here! Not one of those fake artists that dirt up our radio stations all day.

still say its crazy. ONA That I have on boot or download it on winmx and a three disc live set that I can purchase in stores. I can still be a fan and not a club member, rather be an org member. I get more news here than on NPGMC, and its free

Yes I'll renew. There's always going to ups and downs w/Prince. Like I've said before, He does suck at business ventures. BUT I feel I have gotten my moneys worth this year. Yeah it'll suck if the ONA live set is our last cds for the year, but it's only a $100 for the club. That's just pocket change.

It would be nice if we would receive some unreleased songs, or videos. Fat chance I guess. Maybe next year??

If ONA & ONAlive is it for this year...then No.

I can't afford to throw $100 away like that.

ONAlive is bound to be sold for about $45 at places like best buy, $50 tops.

That means that ONA cost me the equivalent of $50-55!!!
and since I already owned half the songs on it anyway
(paid for by my year 1 membership) that means that the
only exclusive music I've recieved this year are 5 songs
at $10 each!

But I'm still hoping that there will be something else
beyond ONAlive to make me change my mind.

ok, well i guess i'm in the minority then, but y'know what? $100 is a lot of money for me. i work every day just to pay my bills, keep a roof over my head, and still have a bit left over for fun stuff..

so sorry y'all, but i can NOT relate to someone who says they wipe their ass with a c-note. yeah, i'll stick with toilet paper. tell ya what? next time you feel the need to wipe your ass with a c-note, gimme a call and i'll give you the best wiping you EVER got, and you can just hand that bill on over to me...

I've never felt the need to be a member. I've known Prince's business practices for years, and I'm not one to put up with a hassle if I know it's going to be a hassle. The most important music has always been released elsewhere outside of his club at some point anyways. The ones who KNOW how Prince runs his club prior to joining deserve what they put up with.

Yeah and to be fair, this year didnt seem like it was going to be a hassle. In actuality it isn't..some of us are playing devils advocate and trying to be fair and impartial and callin it like we see it and have never been overly or even openly critical of the club or Prince until now. But the priniple of it all is dubious and that means a lot in the long run. Even if one "did" know all the shenanegins that may ensue after joining the club.

I just don't think I can afford it. I want to support the club, and get the music - I had the time of my life at the Celebration, but I have to admit...it get's very expensive.

As a college student, I spent $350 dollars to be at the Celly, and was lucky enough to live in MPLS, or I could never have been able to go, and would have felt cheated like the others.

I will have to see how things go, and what we end up with towards the end of the year. I am already disappointed that we have nothing to relive the Celebration. sad

Perks of the club are cool, but I really wanted music, official releases from Prince. I won't be happy with the 3 CD set of ONAL...the Celebration, yes - ONAL? No.

sigh
