i thought it was very odd for P to do a song with an almost identical name as madonnas and release it around the same time.

tho who did it first? I wonder if one of them ripped the title off the other?

i vaguely remember hearing about Beautiful Strange a few years before NewPowerSoul came out...i remember thinking it was gonna be on that record. Besides, madonna is famous for stealing ideas (not saying, by the way, that she stole that song idea)...did anyone ever notice that her whole masturbation thing on the Blonde Ambition tour (you know, with the bed and all) was strikingly similar to Prince's masturbation stuff during the beginning of the LoveSexy shows (you know, with the bed and all)...and that was just after they had worked together...hmmm

yeah, i think it would be stretching quite a bit to say that Madonna stole the title of this song from Prince. the only people that had heard of the title were people who might've seen him play at an aftershow or 2 in Europe in 98/99 and his internet fans. and somehow i think Madonna has better things to do than to scour the internet for the titles of Prince outtakes.

sadly, I loved Beautiful Stranger and can remember the tune immediately... Beautiful Strange... well, I'm sure it was good but I can't remember it to save my life. so... you draw your own conclusions.

"Beautiful Stranger" by Madonna is GREAT! I loved her performance of it last year on the Drowned World Tour.It's a perfect pop song with a cool 60s' psychedelic vibe to it.

But no,Madonna did not steal the title from Prince.It's not uncommon for artists to have songs with the same titles.For example,in 1994 Madonna released a song called "Human Nature" but she most certainly did NOT steal the title from Michael Jackson

Beautiful Strange was really cool until Prince remixed it for the Rave remix album...
