Question about Prince Albums (Musicology - Planet Earth) Just a quick question to those who have these albums...but do they contain any raunchy songs? I'm a big fan of his "classic" years, but haven't picked any of his albums made since since he became a Jehovah's witness.
I didn't know if his songs have since veered away from profanity and overt sexual themes. I just can't imagine Prince not having that stuff in his music!

I don't mean to sound rude, but go get them. Both of them are classic Prince, just without the swear words. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

The 'raunchiness' is still there, it's just a little more subtle. Don't believe the hype. Prince may consider himself a JW, but he would have to be one of the most liberal JWs around. Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

i guess he's kinda burlesque these days..not quite so obvious as in his younger, pre jw days
there's still debate over the meaning of 'turn me loose'..obvious, but not obvious? i'm thinking his lyrics are easily as sexy as his sexyself

There is NOTHING Raunchy about either albums
Prince has taken to not cursing, which eliminates half of it. But he's also taken to being coy about how he presents his ideas. He's still getting laid in half of his songs, but he refers to the situations in a more coy, old time manner---something you'd see on a Otis Redding or Marvin Gaye album. Suggestive, but not necessarily raunchy. Overall, I liked Musicology. I thought it effectively sounded like an old school record. Planet earth, however, even though I like it, is pretty much just a bunch of stuff thrown together--like throwing spaghetti at a wall and seeing what sticks.

The songs are good, but the project is very scattered. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

The lyrics on the 00's albums are more sexually suggestive than explicit. You'll hear some innuendo, but nothing like 'I wanna fuck the taste out of your mouth'.

My first post answers OmegaSeamaster's question. There are no overt sexual themes or profanity in Prince's albums after he became a JW. It is a separate issue that Snap and you, daPrettyman, enjoy listening these albums.

does he have 2 blurt out curse words 2 enjoy the music? man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
