Katt was checked into a mental institution by his family and friends after ranting incoherently that everyone was out to get him. Hopefully he just smoked some crack or something and was fine when he came down. That's a whole lot better than losing his mind. sad

Yeah, a drug habit is always preferable to plain ol' mental illness.

Sounds like a cool gig. thumbs up! I only wish I'd been there to see it.

And I was all excited over Prince kinda-sorta namechecking the Clash. I really feel Lil Buddy could do something really interesting and exciting if he ever worked with a punk act.

How do folks come up up with this is he gay shit? Who gives a ____ if he was, but he ain't. Yes the album is a banger and a sound sorely missed in the hip hop world. Glad the Abstract is back with a winner!

As for New Yorker saying Prince got a limp, they obviously ain't familiar with his pimp stroll.

I just hoped he took a hit of something that would scare him straight as opposed to having a serious mental condition. I know hard drugs could potentially lead someone off the deep end. I'm not wishing that on anybody. I'm hoping that, just like Martin Lawrence did, that he smoked some crack or other freaky shit that got him sooooo fucked up (stopping traffic, ranting and raving, remember that?), he stopped using the shit altogether.

Believe me, I know. I've got ADD, and Bipolar Disorder, though the symptoms for both are relatively mild. One of my family's less delightful genetic gifts is a tendency toward mental illness, including mood and anxiety disorders and schizophrenia.

I was diagnosed with dysthymic disorder. I have had this since I was a kid. Then there are times when I have "double depression". I now know when I am in my down times, I realize I'm there. I also hope for the time I start feeling better. When I do feel better, I'm still not in a "happy" state of mind. I'm just on an even keel.

I just absolutely hate having this condition.

HA!!

The homie DJ Scratch is on tour right now with Q-tip and hit me up about their show last night at the Last Vegas House of Blues….

“Yo, while me and Q-tip were performing “Vivrant Thing” in Vegas last night….this n—a Prince walked out on the stage, took the guitar from our guitar player and just started rocking! None of us knew he was there until he popped up on the stage….then the n—a vanished like Batman, LOL!

The sound crew said Prince was in the balcony watching the show from the very beginning (The balcony was closed off). Then when “Vivrant Thing” came out, he just came backstage and walked out on stage.

None of us knew what was happening, then when we finished the show he was gone LOL!”

I love it! And I’m sure all the fans in the audience did too.

What I would give to have the Chappelle Show still on, so that Dave and crew could recreate this new Prince anecdote….

PS: I can not wait to see Scratch’s video footage….coming soon.

And the Las Vegas Sun collected all of Prince's appearances in Las Vegas last weekend (11-15/16):

Prince Makes Pair of Surprise Appearances
By Melissa Arseniuk · November 17, 2008 · 3:10 AM

Partiers at Lavo were treated to a brief yet thrilling surprise Monday morning as they suddenly found themselves in the presence of music industry royalty.

Prince briefly stopped by the intimate nightclub around 1 a.m. but left within minutes.

“It was dreamlike it was so fleeting,” said one star-struck observer.

The six-time Grammy Award winner wore a black tunic with rhinestone collar as he and a tall female friend were shown to their VIP table overlooking the dance floor.

Instead of partying like it’s 1999, witnesses said the pair left almost immediately, much to the disappointment of onlooking fans.

It wasn't clear why the "Purple Rain" icon left so quickly, but perhaps he was partied out from the night before. On Sunday morning he and a female companion were spotted in a VIP sky box at Lavo's big sister nightclub at the Venetian.

The pair kept a low profile at Tao after making their late arrival at about 2 a.m.

The artist’s quick visit to the Palazzo on Monday came just hours after he made another surprise appearance in Sin City.

Earlier in the night the 50-year-old star shocked concertgoers at the House of Blues when he unexpectedly appeared onstage during a Q-Tip concert and gave a short yet exciting performance.

He joined the hip-hopper onstage during a rendition “Vivrant Thing," and took over lead guitar.

“Prince just walked onstage, took the guitar from (a) Q-Tip bandmate and started playing the song,” a witness said. “The whole thing was unreal. (The) crowd went crazy and then he just walked out. It probably lasted, like, two minutes but it was a great two minutes.”

Q-Tip also pulled double Vegas duty on Sunday. The versatile former A Tribe Called Quest frontman assumed the role of DJ after his show and took to the turntables at The Bank in the Bellagio.

I didn't say anything about him being addicted. I said I hoped he smoked some crack, got scared out of his mind, then he could come down off his high and get back to normal. With treatment, both mental illness and addiction can be controlled.

Prince referencing perhaps the best looking, and one of the coolest, men in popular music: the one and only Paul Simonon. The connection between the two is just a dream. Anyone who's heard Mustapha Dance by the Clash will realise the funk link is strong, and Simonon's bass lines, for instance on Guns of Brixton, are almost worthy of the man himself...

Oh Deee.... I remember last week there was some incident when he had to show up for the Conan O'Brien show and never made it and never called. The next day there was some story about a gun and a concert and an arrest involving Katt Williams. There there was some other award show that he was supposed to be the host for and again, didn't show up.

What's going on with Katt?
