Have any of you ever heard "Sex Shooter" with Vanity singing the lead vocals instead of Apples? Vanity's version was much better, and the track was a bit more funky.

The worst song is Darling Nikki, its self indulgent kitsch compared to the rest, the screaming and the weird ass back masking at the end just disrupts the flow of the album, especially as it precedes When Doves Cry, which despite being the biggest hit, is also easily the best song, its well constructed, musically proficient, believable lyrics and a clever sparseness about this.
Take me with u, despite Apollonia who sounds like his usual squeaky sex kitten is a catchy bouncy (I love that boingy guitar) pop song that holds it own especially as a mellow bridge between the energy of Lets Go Crazy, and the Yearning of the Beautiful ones.
Baby I m a star is also catchy and the lyrics add to the driving dancing beat, its definitely not weak. You want to pick the Joker I say Darling Nikki, it belongs on Controversy or 1999 as a bad filler rather than Purple Rain, he should have put in fathers song or 17 Days there instead
