To tell yall the truth...Even tough it's only my opinion and it is one of the greatest song ever but I truely do detest "Purple Rain" the song!  I always skip it...It's the same thing I do on Michael Jackson's Triller -I skip "Triller" ...They are some great songs but I just can't take listening to it and I don't know why!  Um... let me warm up my vocals

[Edited 11/13/08 5:11am] i would say that since he hardly does computer blue anymore people go nuts when they hear it. just alone on the purple rain tour when that beat kicks in, people go crazy. the weakest track on the album 2 me is the beautiful ones ..i prefer electric intercourse over this one man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |

Computer Blue for sure.
Appolonia's bad singing makes Take Me With You all the more endearing. Its a bit of pop perfection in its imperfectness. I wish Prince would remember that. | |

It looks like we're in the srious minority here...but I ditto U on this. BLEHHHH never at one point did I like this song. and How this thread is being overrun with exclamation of Take Me With U being the weakest is astounding. It's a little piece of pop perfection. It's no grandiose song or opus, I know. As for apples vox being off...so what...so r Prince's sometimes in other songs....it's the way it's supposed to be. Hmm, this is tough.
Baby I'm a Star and Take Me With U are very danceable, singable pop songs. I can't resist that.
I almost agree with Purple Rain being the weakest, I almost always skip that one these days. Maybe because it was so overplayed, but even back in the day, I had to be in a certain 'mood' to listen to it all the way through. His voice in The Beautiful Ones is awesome, love the falsetto with this song, but otherwise it's kind of dull. I think I agree that I Would Die 4 U being the weakest track. | |

apples' singing on take me with u is awful, i agree and a bit distracting . especially the final "take me with uuuu, whoo hoo hoo!"  . but the song itself is so brilliant (imo  ), that can't even destroy it  . i'd say computer blue is the "weakest", just cuz i've always felt it was too short. like an interlude, more than a song. an incomplete thought. the full versions do it more justice, but wouldn't fit on the album. maybe the 7 minute one. an awesome song overall though  . just my   For all time I am with you, you are with me. | |

Ethereal to exciting to tearbreaking in 15 mins or so. I'd go with Darlin Nikki. But ultimately the least strong of the most perfect album. In the 80s I would put the record on when my parents were out, pick up a 5 foot stick I'd stripped and pretend (embarrassingly badly) it was a microphone stand. I'd emerge 45 minutes later. | |

I think this whole album has been over-exposed for me. I rarely listen to it. But the track I listen to the least is Purple Rain. Every once in a blue moon I'll feel the urge to listen to that song specifically, but I almost always skip it if I'm listening to that album for whatever reason. I tend to skip I Will Die 4 U and Darling Nikki as well. | |

I think I would die 4 U could have been a much more developed song, its really lacking IMO, its too short and the song is too great to be too short. I put that song on repeat like 5 times lol...only cause thats how long the song should really be. | |
