Dinner With Prince Dinner With Prince
Posted in Uncategorized on November 12th, 2008 by drfunkenberry Prince invited Big Boy and the morning crew from L A radio station Power 106 over to his house last night for some dinner and new songs Prince has been working on. No word if it is new Prince music or someone he is working with. Big Boy will be talking about it this morning so try to stream it online. UPDATE 2: So Big Boy talked about how awesome it was to meet Prince n how was not wanting to come of as a fan n start busting out singing DMSR. He just said Prince is so cool and he does not a lil red corvette or anything. He said it was surprising to him that Prince knew who Big Boy was. No info on what was played unfortunately. Not sure if they were not supposed to talk about it but we knew that is what they were invited for. We MAY have more info later hopefully. I am a grown man so I won’t beg. Radio DJ personalities have very little say about what gets played, lastly who are they? Its good to do a little ass kissing and politics, but if he wants solid feedback and wants something deeper, they are the last people to seek out your approval.
He should get out of that insecure mode and if he really thinks he needs feedback he should seek the people who have been a little more critical of his latest work, obviously (yes fams obviously) the more critical listeners have had a better feel and better finger on what is and isn’t good to the general public. Would like 2 no if any1 knows of what is up with Paisley Park and if Prince still has a house in chanhassen. Paisley Park is still there. I drive by it from time to time and there is always activity there i.e. trucks loading and unloading stuff. As for his home, they tore that down several years ago but the guard shack is still there. Sometimes I drive by and walk up to the shack and gate imagining what it must have been like back in the days. The guard shack is empty and looks like it goes several months between straightening up. Last time I was there, there were a lot of broken branches everywhere from previous storms. What's really cool is reading the notes at the guard shack door left from adoring fans. One letter even explained what a huge fan she was and wanted Prince to visit her in Iowa. She left her contact info on the letter. Anyway, always nice to swing by there from tine to tine. If you Google Maps Galpin Blvd in Chanhassen MN and go North on Galpin, you can see his former home just South and East of Longacres Dr. Check it out! | |

...speaking of Big Boy, whenever i drive into the LA area, or most of socal, why is it that Hip-Hop/RnB stations like Power 106 have the most ignorant sounding DJ's you can be driving listening to a great song and BAM, they got to come and open their mouth.
I cant change the station fast enough when they come on, and this is most of these type of POWER radio staions around here. The rocks stations here play Mark & Brian in the morning, but the hip hop stations get the Big Boy types, and Big Boy is one of the better ones. ....well to be fair some rock stations play Adam Corolla here, and he's ignorant on a whole other level. I think local radio is doomed! | |
