The only ending I would want to change is UTCM because it was so sad. I only watch up to the sex scene and then I refuse to watch the rest.If it didn't have that ending we probably wouldn't have the song"sometimes it snows in april", which is also a sad song but is a good song.
Alternate ending- Christopher is wearing bulletproof sunglasses and when the bullet hits him he falls and evryone thinks he dead but he gets back up just like the wrestler The Undertaker and he casts a spell on Marys' dad and his goons with terot cards.

BoySimon said: Purple Rain: Silence echoes around the club. An emotional Kid walks to the microphone... he clears his throat... "I was going to play a new song the girls in the band wrote, Lisa and Wendy," he turns and smiles awkwardly at the amazed duo, "but, it's shit, so I've decided not to." He then launches into a version of Electric Intercourse and smashes his guitar over Morris Day's head before running out into the quad... to go streaking.
UTCM: "Shoot Him!" Christopher ducks. The bullet ricochets off the rocks and hits a small moose. The moose goes beserk and impales a sprinting Tricky to the nearest lamp-post whilst whistling a song about revenge. Christopher Tracy and Mary run off into the distance, only to be hit by a passing truck. Graffiti Bridge: Aura is hit by a car and dies. The comunity of Seven Corners come together and turn their fury towards The Time. Morris is swamped by musicians confused between the message of forgiveness preached by Christ and The Kid and their lust for revenge... Suddenly, Isaac Sharon, on an angry but small moose, bursts through the doors of the Glam Slam, impales Levi Seacer to the nearest lamp-post and Isaac and The Kid run off into the distance, only to be hit by a passing truck. OMG...I laughed so hard at these I hurt myself! ā€ˇhttps://www.youtube.com/@PurpleKnightsPodcast

A girl I used to work with said she went to an early test screening of "Under the cherry Moon" and that in the version she saw, Prince's character did NOT get shot or die. I don't remember if she ever told me how that version ended though.
This conversation was back in early 1988, less than 2 years after the movie release, so it was relatively fresh in her memory.

There may have been an alternative ending to UTCM... I've read a version of the script that has other scenes, including a different version of the scene including Kiss where Mary and Christopher gatecrash a kid's birthday party... can't remember much else, actually... though he may have survived at the end of that version.
There is also an alternative GB script that has Prince dying and going back to rectify the situation with Morris before he can go into heaven... Aura and Morris end up together and Prince watches from heaven.. it was actually a much better version than the one released... even though the synopsis I've just written sounds particularly trite.
